Pacific: 2001-2004 Odysseus was my main. Atlantic: Intermittently between 2008-2011 (the game is horrible now) Grimace was my main.
98-01, Chesapeake Drunk Monk, don't recall much about OSI except I loved the Qstaff Med - fighter build and hung around Yew a lot. 12-14, SA Xuthakug, Champion of URK
Age of Shadows 2003-2010, in Guardsmen Militia, Duchy of Trinsic, Silverleaf, towards the end almost entirely craft-oriented, as my reactions slowed down noticeably. As much as I would like a militia role it is more realistic for me to concentrate on crafting. The Fretting kin, mostly: Jern, Smaed, Agnes.
Mannnn I wish I remembered more names on catskills but I only remember my cousin and animal control.. Oh and neobahamut because he was the first 120 mage and I was super-uber jealous to say the least I did play from 98 to a month or two after aos so I might of seen you gozinya and wulver!
Atlantic Christoph Brock - started as a macer, goofed around for a year, and then developed into a 6x GM mage (only got resist to 96.7 by the time I sold my account). Did a lot of dungeon crawling before getting into PVP. Ran a Chaos guild, can't remember the name. Had a lot of fun going from town to town killing everyone I could. By midnight the banks were mostly deserted. Jesus Christ - 3x GM thief. Another great char to empty towns out. Ran a guild called OPM (Other People's Money). I regret using that name, and frankly, I'm suprised he didn't get deleted. Hans Mayer - 5x fencer, also in my Chaos guild. I usually brought him out to back other mages in the guild. Mao Zedong - Created to be a pk before OSI banned me for the "offensive" name. Used to roll with Jarus Dansken and Dr Octagon. We had a lot of fun killing Order folks and farming dragons/wyrms during the slow times. I also played around on Drachenfels when Atlantic was down, but mostly just to practice my German. I had a fencer named Grufti.
My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen year old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink, he would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Some times he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy, the sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. My childhood was typical, summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When I was insolent I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds, pretty standard really. At the age of 12 I received my first scribe. At the age of fourteen, a Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shaved my testicles. There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum, it's breathtaking, I suggest you try it.
Siege Perilous: um.. 98-2002 maybe? can't exactly remember. Characters were: Tela - dexxer/stealth started out good, went red toward the end. PugAchev - started out dex, switched to mage at some point. can't remember the guilds I was with, been trying to dig up old screenshots, etc since starting on UO:R.
I played the Beta and started out on Lake Superior. I later moved to lake Austin when they opened that shard on the fifth anniversary. Only real character of note I recall having was a Legendary Smith named Arthanis on Lake Austin. I think I was like the 5th Legendary smith on the shard.
Paul Atreides = newb Lake Superior - 97 to don't know Vecna Ancev Drakus Tyranthaxus (429 solo statloss kills in 3 days killed by a tamer who ported in 2 dragons or some shit) Best buds - Insane, Wyndolyn, Paul Atreides, Damage Inc and others.. had a lot of fun in the CG vs EE days. Took the Ultima Online --> Shadowbane -- Shroud of the Avatar path... from what it looks like.
Sonoma from open to 2003ish (closed account in 2008) MKA Wrath Kaster Troy (Aquired account from friend in early 2000s) Obsidian Dyllan Stormwynd Zarathos Kaster Troy Guilds: Oasis OaG Usually hung out in Player Town of Oasis (First GMed Player Town in Ultima Online) YMCA Notable Friends: Necrolyte NecroPhyte Dor Kralen Pendragon Jonas Lady Rei Smitten w/ Love BaeHawk ArKaiNe
There are more and more UO type games coming out playable on a Mac. Albion Online (still in beta, not UO, but a UO type of system) and now Shroud of the Avatar (crowd funded). I have paid 2 x USD 5 as my contribution to UO:R, though nothing to the above 2 versions.
I'm hoping the depth of game mechanics of UO makes it's way into Shroud but we shall see. The NPC interaction is interesting. The overhead map has nice visuals. The combat needs some work...they need to make it fun. Last time I played they had some concept of dragging your combat powers on top of each other to make them stack and it really seemed strange...especially if you're in a heated fight... I don't want to be dragging icons on top of each other. Needs to be a bit more fluid. I just started to play it again and they wiped it since I last played...haven't tried combat yet. Backers seem to be spending crazy money...they've raised $7 million...but they say you'll be able to buy housing and other items with in-game currency when it goes live.
I played Great Lakes back in the day. Trying to find my bud Ho Chi Minh to see if he's still playing. Had a blast with VC. Just fired it back up on Second Age which is fun as hell but there's never anyone on. So I'll try this server to see how it pans out.
Beta -> 2001 or so Atlantic Shard DragonSlayer No other regular chars I remember. My older brother played on several shards under the name "Theodin"
Sonoma from 1999-2005 My regular characters were Genevieve Dupree, Morgana Deschain, Eowyn Silverstar Guilds were KtL, NUB, E^E, and 4H Best friends in game were Poo, Romus, Cymerean and Eric the Old. My hubby played Helsod Vedide and Woodie Cashmam. I just started playing this server and its really brought back a lot of great memories and am having a blast. Looking forward to getting my characters remade and making some friends and having some fun.
Atlantic 2000-2004 Bob Henry - swordsman, first char Mimic - tamer 7xgm Inkley - lumberjacker On a side note, on Inkley, after AOS came out I became a pk and I killed this miner one day, and in his pack he had a bag of jewlery. This jewlery was prepatch bless jewlery and when worn added I think 12 of each stat. My two buddies and I each rolled around with +48 or whatever to each stat making out health with potions and armor and stuff around 200 and the best part? It was permanent. Up until the day my parents made me stop playing I was rolling around like a god. It was all insured of course. I remember being able to take groups of people out without having to retreat at all. So good. Simplicity - fencer/healer/mage faction char. Was SL then Minax. Played with Dark Mist, Alexia, Scott Serpent, David, Baek, and many others I can't recall.
Chessy Want to say 98-2004, prob a bit off as I messed around on several player run servers in between and I was young and stupid. Elinel - pvp fencer most knew me by. Did a lot of pvp, from pk to guild wars to factions. Every faction but TB. Screw those guys. I don't remember all the guilds, including my own, was quite of bit of movement in pvp guilds. Was in Undead (X) lead by iceman, think that was pretty near my end, and i have tons of screenshots from the huge fights we used to have. Was also -V-, another pvp guild ,and a few i can't recall. I owned -V-, cant even remember name. Maybe ill find some screenshots. Mudvayne - my bucs den resident disarm thief Eldor - first newbie mage trammy char. Mage in full plate with a heavy xbow and no tactics. I was so confused. I rolled with a a lot of groups, when i was young and charming -- only a few names I remember well - Urhi Teshup, Stigmata, Sir Scribealot, Goldberg, Darkness Within, Miss America, Iceman. Magica, Blare, Cyric -most of them from Undead X.
