Does anyone else get jailed for not breaking the rules here or is this just happening to me? I've been in the UOR jail 4 times and have not broken a rule to my knowledge. 3 out of the 4 times Chris even acknowledged this. The 4th time happened last night while I was macroing. I have not heard from Chris yet.

I was most recently jailed for macroing tracking on my boat. I lost about 12hrs of macroing time because of this. Was this done to keep me out of the dungeons for an extra day or 2? I can't see the reason I'd be jailed for running this macro below:

    !Loop
    Assistant.Macros.HotKeyAction|1477|
    Assistant.Macros.HotKeyAction|1044098|
    Assistant.Macros.WaitForGumpAction|2976808305|False|10
    Assistant.Macros.GumpResponseAction|4|0|0
    Assistant.Macros.WaitForGumpAction|993494147|False|10
    Assistant.Macros.GumpResponseAction|0|0|0
    Assistant.Macros.PauseAction|00:00:01
    Assistant.Macros.ForAction|10
    Assistant.Macros.HotKeyAction|1477|
    Assistant.Macros.PauseAction|00:00:01
    Assistant.Macros.EndForAction

Essentially it uses tracking, then tabs out 10 times (once per second) and repeats. I use this macro on my spar-bot a lot because I put tracking on most of my characters so the tabbing is handy to prevent auto-defense. Chris said something about it being server intense or something like this (he sent me a little message scroll). I didn't realize this macro would be a problem, I've been using it here and on many shards for about 6 years and no one has ever said anything about it.

My 3rd jailing was because I was PKing on a boat and Chris thought I exploited a bug to gain access to my victim's ship. Because of Chris interfering, I was unable to loot my kills or steal their boat. Point being, he interfered with normal gameplay and affected my loot. I didn't need the loot, but it was loot I earned that I was unable to take because I was put in jail and then released to Buc's Den, not to where I was jailed from (my victim's boat).

2nd and 1st time, I was jailed with my old guild members for PKing. That day he jailed us twice, both times saying we didn't break the rules. The first time he simply asked us to stop gating to Ocllo when we were town fishing. To be fair, we were gating to about 30 rune spots, Ocllo was only one of them. We listened to Chris's suggestion and stopped gating Ocllo. Later that day, he jailed us for sending gates to Wrong 2 during a Harrower event even though we followed his instructions from earlier that day.

Note: This is not an attack on Chris or UOR staff. I respect what he does but I really am curious to know if I'm being treated differently because I'm "a big bad PK" or if this is common practice and I would like to see if anyone else has had a similar experience.

Never had a problem macroing tracking but then again I don't macro it with tabbing in and out. Why don't you just hide and macro tracking that way you won't need to worry about auto-defense.

As for the other stuff, I don't know the circumstances so I can't comment but I trust that Chris had legitamate reasons. The only time I have been jailed are when I miss gump check or misclick the AFK gump during resource gathering.

I'd love to do that, but I'm in jail. Prior to last night, I had no idea this macro was a jail-able offense. I use this macro on many of my characters who are actively training tracking and being spar-bots. I figured instead of making a whole new macro to train the exact same skill, I'd use the one.

Maybe Chris or someone from staff could compile a list of illegal macros in Razor or tell us how many "actions" per minute we are restricted to?

I wish there was Visitor's access to the jail! Watch a little PFR through a window. Maybe even tap the window.

Just go to your local mall's food court. You will see plenty of pork fried rice behind a glass window.

When he jailed you last night, he was asking in irc how to re-create what someone was doing he had jailed. No one in irc was able to replicate what you were doing. It sounded sort of like he thought you may have been using an illegal third party program from the way he was asking about it in irc.

Every time I've been jailed Telamon would kindly explain what the issue was, I will respond yes sir, and then go back to my business. I can take a guess at his motivations in every single one of these instances: Telamon looking out for the best interest in his shard. If no rules were broken, he will generally just make a strong case for why he wishes you wouldn't do what you do. Fair enough. He wants to make sure you are seeing all the perspectives and can get in front of the issue whether that means making new rules, or simply adding a mechanic that educates new players on the choices they are making (sure as the gump warning that the gate you are taking leads to someone's house).

Edited to add: Specifically responding to the post title, "anyone else getting jailed for nonsense", I am glad I play on a server where nonesense is NOT allowed to run rampant. I've played on servers like that, THEY SUCK!

Here's the log where he was asking about it.

<~Telamon> So community question, as I think this is not above par
<~Telamon> How would someone, standing in place, execute a run, combat toggle, run, repeat
<~Telamon> while not moving a step
    <Mes> just tabbing right?
    <~Telamon> With razor/client only
    * Ron (~UOR@Chat4all-19A84FE9.hsd1.or.comcast.net) Quit (Ping timeout)
    <Drakhath> war/peace in client
<~Telamon> THis is actually a running step, combat mode, then standing, then repeat
    <Drakhath> oh
    <AC> overload yourself
    <AC> with boards or w/e
    <~Telamon> not overloaded
<~Telamon> (is watching someone in jail do this, has no idea how its possible)
<~Telamon> Previously it looked like the guy was running in slow motion
    <~Telamon> but without moving forward
<~Telamon> Overloaded would make sense, but thats not the case
    <Drakhath> was he typing?
    <Xegugg> siezure?
<thatjoeguy> when you change orientation would it count different depending on how far the cursor was (as it would apply for run/walk)

So I got jailed because people in IRC don't use Razor as well as I do. That sucks :(

Sounds like you were jailed before he even asked the question.

I was hoping to be out in dungeons giving people something to chase on this fine Labor Day weekend but I guess I will hang out with all my fancy new trophy rares that I keep very secure in PANDA PRISON.

Is that a silver football I see? I seem to remember those. What were they?

It seems like PFR is the target of Chris's voyeurism!

FWIW, I just replicated the above matter with razor. It looked like I was "jogging" in place.

I can understand why he jailed you, it's not a macro you see everyday. Personally I don't understand the need to have to "tab" every second if you're not actively sparring, you really only need to tab out once (I guess there are very limited scenarios where you may have to tab out several times). If he watched you doing this on a boat and not sparring then it may just look like there's something else going on.

90% of the time when I use a macro like this it's because I'm multi-training skills. Most of my macros have tab sequences in it so there's no accidental death because in the past I've had friends playing with me and I'd just leave my sparbot in-game for whomever needed to raise skills. If my guy is going to stand in the game doing nothing but be a sparbot, I usually train utility skills on them such as tracking, anatomy, item ID...

I didn't think it was a big deal and certainly didn't think I needed to make a whole new macro when I had something that would do the trick (train my tracking). If I knew this was going to get me in jail and cut into my ability to retrain skills, I would have spent the 15 seconds making a new macro and not suffered a 15+ hour downtime.

Yeah, sounds like it was just a little suspicious to him. I'm sure you'll be released now that he has the facts. Plus, I doubt he was targeting you specifically. If he said it was taxing the system then maybe he investigated and found you (your macro making you) behaving oddly. I doubt he just watches you while you AFK macro. Lol
