Anyone feel like organizing a Gauntlet any time soon? It's one of the funniest events in my memory with Urk, and one that ummies can participate in as well. Hell, we could even give away prizes to whoever can make it to the end. If you are unfamiliar, the Uruk Gauntlet is where orcs line up along a "lane" and we all attack a target that is up next to run through. Participants must be wearing thier birthday suits and a minor weapon of thier specialty (or bare handed for Wrestling of course). Once we're all set and attacking the participant, he or she will attempt to survive a run between us down the lane. What's everyone's thoughts on this? Who wants to step up and schedule something like this..?
Anything can be combined with gambling...the odds would be the tough part. Xuth I like this idea and we almost did an impromptu one the other night. I was suggesting humies on one side and orcs on the other but then they attacked a 3rd time instead. I see new orcs training daily so I think soon this will be very doable.
Not sure about calculating the odds but we could take bets on who would be the last one standing. The last two runners, depending on how long the gauntlet is, starts on opposite sides of the gauntlet and has to make it through to the other side alive. Payouts might have to be a flat rate but maybe contestants could post their stats or make them public so maybe odds could be calculated.
I'm sure there would we a trophy for first second and third depending on player turnout as is the case with most player runs events like this. Also, prestige?
