Dungeon Guards [DG] : Hythloth Hunt & An Unexpected Visitor The blue carpet was rolled out at DG Village in preparation for our weekly meeting and hunt. This week, we had a few special guests from the village of Paws and the city of Stormhold. With the meeting over, we burst through the entrance of Hythloth dungeon, our chosen destination for the hunt. Progress was good through the upper levels. The teleport trap puzzle caused great difficulty and slowed us down considerably! Soon we ran into the dreaded pair of Balrons. Heavy losses ensued. Loot collected, we returned to DG Village to count our gold. However upon returning an unsavory character from Panda forest revealed himself. Surprisingly he proposed a trade, with an offer that was too good to refuse - chests filled with weapons are armour for 2000 gold. DG suspecting a trap brought a heavy escort for the pack llamas that would go pick up the supplies. With aid from our allies we set off in our convoy, not knowing what to expect upon arrival in Panda Forest. The fortress was as grim and grotesque as we had feared. Blood and organs of innocent victims everywhere. A figure appeared from the gates, tempting us inside. We clumsily scrambled to load the loot into our pack llamas.... ... and quick-marched back down the road to DG Village. Some members questioned the morality of our mission and dealing with the devil. But the piles of loot in the chests spoke for themselves. The Devil returned to his old self and attacked DG village only an hour later, killing an innocent member in the guild house. However, we managed to put him down. Dungeon Guards sleep uneasily tonight. The wrath of the Panda Forest will soon be upon us again.
Kudos to everyone, and especially @Pork Fried Rice for helping these young ones....only to make the trade more interesting by demanding organs afterwards.
Every one needs a good villain. Out of character PFR is a decent fellow. Whereas in character he is a ruthless killer and an expert in the dealings with death. I enjoyed this adventure thoroughly! Thanks for the writeup Melryn!
It was nice playing with the Dungeon Guard yesterday. They now possess half the shard's loot from the last 4 months of PKing. I told them if they picked the gear up they could have it, otherwise I was going to send it all to the URKs. I hope to see it put to good use!
Phaedrus and Jupiter arrive just in time for the Dungeon Guard's meeting and guild hunt. Jupiter explains his strangely colored hat. "Group picture everyone!" DG and her allies ride upon the demons of Hythloth! Things begin to go a bit wrong as more and more arch demons descended upon us. Before too long demons and Dungeon Guards littered the floor. Dusting themselves off they take revenge for their fallen on a nearby daemon nest. A messenger from the notorious Panda syndicate arrives. Jupiter finds out this proposal involves a pack horse convoy of loot. Tempted by cheap armor and weapons the DG convoy sets forth towards the dark Panda keep. Deeply suspicious and debating the wisdom of their journey the travelers did their best to stay together. Upon returning home with many heavy chests the unloading began when someone speculated at least some of the loot was most likely theirs.
Thank you for posting this and exposing the questionable plot behind the Dungeon Guard leadership. For it would seem, their beloved guild leader is an unsavory individual who should not be trusted. Let it be known that from this day forth, Melryn is a sworn enemy of all those who love Britannia, sandals, and well trained kittens!
