Lock Lake boss is not effected by any slayers, unlike some of the other bosses and their respective group slayers
Implemented a system in which certain houses on the server can be designated as historical. This will allow the house to be excluded from decay and to remain as a part of the servers history in situations where the owner is not available A detailed post summarizing what can qualify a house for this project will be available soon. This can only apply to houses that have served as a community resources or event center for players and remain public resources. Note: Any house covered under this system will indicate as much on the sign, and be marked with a special plaque. They will also be indexed in a forum thread for player review. You are absolutely kidding me right? Did no one here play UOSA? All this does is stagnate out the server. The amount of reasons this is wrong would take me entirely too long to list. One of the main reasons being that really old well established houses will naturally have a SHIT TON of friends to keep it refreshed. I may be out of date here in assuming that the owners away time is maxed at 6 months, then the house becomes condemned, and friends can no longer refresh it therefore allowing it to fall... If a player can't login ONE TIME in six months....really? This also creates hordes of work for the staff(Chris) when shit tons of rares locked down on floors entirely fall out of circulation. If the item database would even recognize an item on the floor locked down as inactive.... Even increasing the owner's away time to a year or nine months seems an almost impossible task to let fall...that means I CAN'T LOOT IT OFF THE GROUND WHEN IT FALLS, AND THE ACTIVE PLAYER BASE THAT WOULD SHOW UP FOR A FREAKING GIANT COVE LIBRARY IDOC....WHAT WAS ONE OF THE BIGGEST PLAYER SURGES TO ANOTHER SERVER IN RECENT HISTORY? TELAMONS IDOCS.
Truth be told, this isn't changing much. There are already a few houses on the server that are set to never fall, the message will always be that it's slightly worn or another one of the intermediate wear messages. If you're curious to go find them you can log on test some time when it's a copy of live and has been up for awhile and you'll see which houses are the ones that haven't fallen even though all the other ones have. More transparency is always a good thing, so historical houses is probably preferable to doing it through the back door.
This change was for situations in which players are in the hospital, deployed for military service or in very very rare situations players provide an event center or house for role playing activities which remains accessible to active players. It is not implemented to make unused houses permanent. And like the patch notes indicate any house covered by this protection will be listed publicly on the forums and noted ingame. Just to comment on this Napo, there are currently zero houses on the server with ageless protection, or houses that are refreshed by the staff. However from time to time a player will be hospitalized or be without internet for 3-4 weeks and the staff will make sure the houses do not decay due to a situation outside the players control.
We have tons of unused static houses in towns and shit for permanent stuff, no player houses should be permanent
Ok, I may have over reacted with images of the graveyard of grandfathered houses on other servers. I love that the staff helps out in times of need/deployment.
I would very much like to see them stay, all BS and trash talk aside, I really like these and I would love to quest for them for what it's worth.
I have mixed feeling on it, too. Overall, I'm not a fan, but damn this green power reptile slayer spear is swweeeeeet
IMHO this action should be retroactive. To me it's not different than gain a rare from exploiting a server bug. Although it was not a player's fault, it was also not supposed to exist in the first place. So if they are not spawning anymore, a bugged rare was created that clearly benefits one person.
In this case it was my fault, not the players. And since I cannot guarantee that these items have not been sold it could be very unfair to players who might have purchased one of these items not knowing the circumstances tied to its existence. This will just fall into the category of "accidental server rare".
