Moving forward, I would appreciate even more than I do now that a highly regarded freeshard such as this would deliver such game altering news in a broader manner than a few hours notice via a stray comment in IRC.

Yeah, probably the same ones who talked telamon into this and no I wouldn't have bought one either way, I honestly don't care about the value but I do think it's tacky to put an extra status symbol on something that wouldve already been very rare

Like I said everyone plays for their own reasons and hey...do whatever makes you happy. Its a video game...All about fun and entertainment.

It has nothing to do with the mask itself, from my point of view it is always about fairness and Telamons continued poor choices on what to add, what names to use, and who knows what when. Eventually all these poor choices are going to ruin the face value of the shard and peoples first impressions and whatnot. Masks that are already unique do not need unique names with event/year/#, second unique masks should never be obtainable from vendors, they should be earned, the footwear... fine ill give you that but not the masks. And remember I am so jealous that I don't really log in anymore except to cry behind all the unique masks I own that were earned.

Telamon disappoints me in so many of the common sense decisions he makes, and I basically don't even hold him accountable, I hold the winey pming little cunts who probably harass him with bad ideas and persistence to the point where he has no other option then to cater to you winey little cunts

Unfortunately, I see this whole numbering thing backfiring on the server.

People like rares. People will only want the #1 mask #1 sandals/etc...

After there are #1's that have been purchased from the vendor noone else will want holiday coins/etc because they wont want mask/sandal #2/#3 etc..

Then...noone participates in holiday events any longer until the new set of #1s comes along and dont buy/sell/trade holiday coins any longer.

Server suffers and server stagnates.

Not a very strategic move for server health IMO but I guess we shall see.

I think the majority of us don't give a shit about masks having a number. Buy it cause of the hue.

From someone who will never climb to the elite status of some of these guys, I think the numbers are a little tacky, kinda like a makers mark on a pair of pre-patch sandles if you are not the maker...it would actually turn me off to buying them if I could.

PS: All this IRC announcements are even bigger BS. Every little detail is included in the compendium. Every change documented in patch notes. But some really crucial information is announced in IRC for the lucky ones checking it right then, when Telamon feels like chatting. Same with all the town invasions and special event announcements...
