Ugh.. Well now I feel dumb. Ruck's mare was mislabeled as pure when in fact it was Not pure. As a result, a nightmare is back on the market.

Ruck was pretty understanding about it, and i agreed to keep an eye out for a good stat Pure for him in the future, bypassing the bid feature.
