edit: I figured it out, I think. I copied the Desktops folder from drive_c/Ultima Online/ as well as Desktop.nwb. Seems to have worked thus far!

Hope this is not a dumb question...

I've downloaded the Mac client. I run it. The icon appears on the dock. About 10 seconds later the icon disappears.

I am running El Capitan.

Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Do you mean the icon for UO:Renaissance? I also have El Capitan but not experienced that problem, it is permanently in my dock.

Kind of. I double click on the Application (UO) icon in the Applications folder. It appears on the dock for a few seconds. Then the icon disappears off the dock and the Application close.

It's failing for some reason - I suspect a Razor issue perhaps.

When the icon is in the dock, right clíck on it to bring up options that allow you to make the icon stay in the dock permanently.

Unfortunately pinning the icon to the dock is not the issue. The issue is the application crashes a few seconds after launch.

If I watch Activity Monitor I can see the Application launch then it almost immediately enters a "not responding" state then after a few seconds it's removed from memory.

That may happen due to it using Wine

Could you right click the icon on Applications folder, click Show Package Contents, double click Wineskin -> Advanced -> Test Run.

Looks like Freetype might be an issue

It may not be freetype actually. Have you downloaded the latest mac client?

You can always enable it back if it doens't work.

I'm a new player to this server, actually haven't played UO in years, but I thought i'd give it a run.

I seem to be having the same problem asi Sargie though... i'm pasting the Wine Logs that you asked him for, to see if there is anything I can do to get this solved. I haven't tried disabling SIP yet.

I actually did follow your guide, I installed everything just fine... the things is when opening the client, it seams to crash after a few seconds. Doesn't even show a window of any kind. Should I deactivate SIP? It seems a bit risky...

Well yes it may be risky but you could try that and see if it works while we look for a better solution.

Great new Sargie! I'm glad you found a way to make it work. I'm kinda picky with my Mac cuz I use it to Dj a lot, and if disabling the SIP is risky, I'd prefer to find a better solution. I'm gonna try the post nkr just told me!

You should install XQuartz and follow the wine configuration but instead of "Winbox3" using the "UO Renaissance" app.
