But I agree with @SteelyDan on this, could have given him a chance to bump his bid.

Awe man sorry, do you not see on the bottom of the post about feel free to IRC me a ridiculous offer. Do you want to pay 350k? I haven't sold it yet...I'll be home at 630 central...I want to be fair but 100k over auction price I jumped on it :/ I don't really care about feelings either this is strictly uo business @ it's finest.

You can have a shot, not trying to be unfair by any means. Just trying to make the most $

Not a good idea to set an auction and accept irc offer at the same time.
Your best option is to ask to your "irc buyer" to bid on your auction.
On that way, everything will be alright.
Congratulation for your first post, without people like you, this forum thread will be boring!
Sorry if we was "strict" with you @Baskin but there too weird things on the trading post lately.

Allowing someone to privately bid via IRC also opens the door for sellers to make "false bid claims" by saying, "I was offered X amount via IRC," and therefore would allow people to manipulate their own bids by trying to jack the price up. It's best to keep it in forums only so that all bids are clearly seen and in the open, and no scamming is made possible. I'm not saying you did that, but that's one reason why auctions should be kept in forum.

Quite literally the opposite, this is UO business at its worst. Your listing is vague, had no end time, you posted end times and then took a higher bid (without a 24hr chance for anyone to outbid) from an unnamed buyer (yet you still have the item on hand.)

Poor form and a blight on your sales reputation is what this really is. Good luck in all your future dealings.
