What is Your Favorite UO City?

I despise Britain. Both sides of it. Never could stand it. Seems so...pompous.

Brit reminds me of filthy peasantry. Like the alley way trash of NYC.

see I see every UO town through Ultima prime lenses, so I have some love for Britain even though it's a pain to get around, same as Trinsic cause Dupre's my homey 4 life. Same reason I can't get into Magincia even though the town in UO itself is fine.

I really like Cove for nostalgia reasons.

Way back in Catskills the houses right outside of Cove (before you could place in that big blank area RIGHT outside the gate) all were owned by thieves, murderers, and other nefarious types it seemed. Just to rattle off a few names I remember there was Nails, Stryder(?) a stealth mage PK, "Kama Sutra", and.... hmm.... shit..... I'm drawing a blank now. Damn... I can't believe I've forgotten the names of my neighbors back then. I might have to dig through old screenshots on my old computer to jog my memory if that HD still spins up.

I had a small tower there right along the coast southeast pretty close to the gate placed right after UOR launched. It was my first house as I spent all of T2A homeless & then later in T2A saving up for that small tower deed for when UOR came out. Got to know the neighbors fairly well. One of them was even from the same state I lived in (she owned a tower a bit north of the Cove entrance if I remember right). Still got a couple of them on ICQ! They haven't logged on in years though.

Anyway, why is Cove my favorite city? The memories on Catskills.... For example, I remember one day during a looting/pillaging run in Deceit I gated myself out to avoid the mob that had formed to kill my sorry ass....entered the gate.... and immediately crashed. Fuck....

Oh well... I'm screwed...the stuff I looted and all that is going to be looted by whoever killed me. I'm sure at least one of the lynch mob followed me through the gate.

Huh.... I'm alive and at full health. What's this? There's a corpse of one of the anti-looters by me with my neighbor (she lived just one spot east) standing there.

That's what Cove was on Catskills way back then. Thieves, murderers, and scoundrels...but still seemed to watch out for each other too. It was a great place and my favorite city because of that!

I can't even think of a 2nd place town... Moonglow, Brit, Bucs or Vesper... All had were pretty fun too and had a lot of great memories. Cove though was by far my #1 favorite city, even though it wasn't the same on Atlantic once I mostly moved there. Most of my other fond memories revolved around dungeons, at IDOCs, or away from towns on Atlantic (like the sandstone south of the Brit MG for noto stuff or joining spammy guilds then killing their members). Cove has got my vote though and 2nd place isn't even close!

That's awesome, I always hoped for something like that here on UOR but I fear I'm alone on the matter. Cove is a great city for it too!
