Sure, a lot of people get frustrated with Darkwing, but that's no reason to talk to him like shit. I think most people could have sympathized with Lightshade initially as it was a huge current event, but he reacted in a way that he was looking for a fight. Cussing Darkwing out was clearly uncalled for, and LS lost his cool. It seemed pretty out of character for Lightshade who has always seemed to be a cool guy, so it was probably a combination of past "straws" and a little bit of burnout. Sometimes taking a break on our own is hard, sometimes we might need to feel like its easier to leave in anger. Whether we get pk'd by someone, or smacked over the head with a rolled up newspaper by Darkwing for saying penis or speaking in all caps, or talking off topic, personal attacks shouldn't happen because it's just petty. Yeah we've all seen darkwing talk about stuff off topic, but I believe Telamon has addressed that earlier in this thread.

I care about his comments and the way he helps/interacts with us and especially new people.

IRC is dead a lot of the time, and the idle chit-chat is interesting, especially if your muling/grinding, if the discussion was distracting/disrupting real UOR talk it's one thing, but most the time IRC is dead.

I'm all for anti "trash talk", but so many time's I've seen warnings for 10 minutes of idle chat when nothing is going on, and the discussions were far from trash talk.

Did LS deserve a 15 minute ban? Who cares it's 15 minutes. He got to slap someone of authority with a big trout, and clearly offended them. Win for Lightshade and the trout.

However, if a 15 minute ban is what tipped him over the edge of quitting, he was probably near the edge anyways...

I don't think he was, but I vaguely recall seeing where he kinda sorta quit/took a break. he bought a house i wanted to buy, couldnt' get ahold of him, he then dropped it one night and someone placed lol. I think he does that every so often, ragequits and comes back.
