im just looking for people to adapt and overcome rather than making things even more difficult for reds. If you're not interested in, or are not good at pvping or simply defending yourself, or you don't want to interact with guilds, or communicate with other people, then you will die. i don't see a problem with that. (when i say "you" i am not talking specifically to you paddy).

It seems to me that people are wanting to log on their tamer, farm a bunch of plat and gold, and safely earn all this fortune. i mean cmon, this is EARLY UO, you will not be safe. There are so many other aspects to this game other than farming monsters. Get involved.

    Protect yourselves.

what's so difficult about having a pvper ready to defend your tamer? and join a damn guild! team up.

i know that if i was farming something and got pked, i would log on my pvper and communicate with my guild that i need help, if i was not already farming with them.

what i wouldn't do, is jump on the forums and complain, or ask for changes.

I think this is what the "pro"s of this debate believe. (the "loudest" ones, at least)
    • Tamer is farming
    • 2 or more pk's roll in
    • Tamer manages to kill pk's (yeah, right)
    • Pk's bong rip a few times
    • Pk's log onto their fully trained alternate pk's
    • Same pk's track down aforementioned tamer and don't stop until they win via using all 15 accounts filled with nothing but pk alts on standby until tamer rage quits
    • Pk's bong rip a few more times
    For everyone else...

Apply crucial conversation techniques to the argument is the best advice I can give (I myself have no dog in this fight), clearly identify and agree on what either side loses when their character dies and what either side's options are when they do die.

Why? I think that's the root of the argument, no?
I've read through most and haven't seen this put up yet.

I think were it done, we could have saved 16 pages of minutia... which anyone new to the topic has long since drowned in.

Do you really think pkers have 15 characters ready to pvp at all times? im really wondering, because i personally have one pker on each account. maybe i need to up my pker capacity. but i like doing other stuff too.

also, tamers/blues/pvmers/cry babies/ whatever we are calling these people also have 15 character slots, and can come back infinitely. I dont see how pkers have ANY type of unfair advantage, or an advantage at all.

    Me? No sir.
I said, "I think this is what the "pro"s of this debate believe. (the "loudest" ones, at least)"

I'd saw off my legs (leaving me with one arm, lol!) before playing a tamer or even worse... "battle miner" here ever again.
Been there, done that. All my "no's".

On the topic, I do have one opinion... kinda?

The only thing keeping this or any other UO server "alive" is "death". Death is the anti-trammel.
Without it, the server becomes a great big "nothing".

Trammel is coming. Go to war.

This post has got me thinking though, of a viable pvp tamer build. Preferably dexxer tamer. would be neat I think... getting a para blow off on someone while a few dragons are frying them at the same time.

You'd be the real MVP in my book risking personal AND pet stat loss.

hard mode and easy mode at the same time?

I see you are attempting to talk trash, again, because that's the only leg you ever stand on, despite it being frail and weak. I speak out in support of many people when I agree with their positions. Yourself and your friends who don't talk to me anymore as well. If you need me to cite some occasions, because your memory is too foggy to remember, I suppose I could. Unfortunately, providing evidence that does't support you're pathetic narrative likely wouldn't amount to much.
As has been seen, for years, I do not hesitate to speak good or ill of anyone, if that's how I feel about whatever topic is at hand. Sorry you, and so many others, took my honesty as a great offense, but I am who I am and always will be. Hopefully someday you'll get over that sensitivity but I'm not going to hold my breath.

    Hello everyone,
I think even stat loss or any kind of delay is not a good think for the liberality of UO.

UO has been one of the most beautiful games of history with its capacity to choose anything you like. Looting not allowed, PVP not allowed etc. are killing the spirit of UO. And I think If someone wants to earn life with killing people so it should be. This is a game and the adrenalin of being in danger of PK'ed is also a part of the joy that people have.

If you don't want be to killed choose a Trammel UO UO or any kind of orhet MMORPG.

I also dont like the stat loss or waiting process of PK's.

BTW I am not a P, I am a blue player who is trying to fight against PK's. This is the path I choose but hey people c'mon PK's are also making this game beautiful.

UO had to evolve from the way it once was, where reds ran rampant and osi was hemorrhaging players because reds outnumbered blues by some huge margin. There should be some risks to being able to run over people such as stat loss, which currently isn't too high of a risk due to modern connections. However, we don't want things to be too strict to where there are no reds around. I'd like to be able to go to dungeons and have a moderate chance of encountering a pk, rather than a 90% chance at any given time. Raising short term decays at least a little, maybe by half, would be a little better than the current system. I do agree with Fuji when he mentioned people adapting to the situation, that would help, and pk evasion is definitely a great skill to teach new players or someone who is habitually pk'd.

I think a tweak to the stat loss / short term count system would provide at least some discretion from pk's, making the kills count rather than just blatantly murdering anyone and everyone they encounter. I don't think anyone is asking for full blown trammel, but we don't want full blown felucca either. There's plenty of tombstones in the graveyard of free shards where the rules were lax, and they let reds and all around griefers have free run under the name of "it's a sandbox game!". Well, yeah, but who's gonna play in that sandbox if a group of people shove your head into the sand every time you wanna build a sandcastle! :D there's one in particular dying a slow, painful death because griefers run the show. I will say this though, I rarely encounter pk's here as I have on any other shard, that were just outright a-holes. It was actually quite a shock to be pk'd here and NOT be dry looted and insulted for my troubles.
