I am not polite to self acclaimed dictators that want to take over a several year old tradition (this contest) without any backing from the society.

Oh and btw, if anybody here has "personal likes" in favour of votes, than it is Zyler, Mr. Fisher contest and friend with everybody. In fact, my post would in this case be in massive disadvantage, as I am telling all the clowns on this shard without hesitation what they are - clowns.

I really have no horse in this race but TopShots was always either judged by staff or by likes. Staff was the best option but it is what it is.

I created the likes option when I took over Top Shots. It's been abused in the past but generally always stayed legit. Outside of people spamming their friends to vote for their picture (which is perfectly fine by me) the likes system is the best next to staff pick.

You can argue that a likes system is flawed but I'm sure there are going to be people (like me) who will argue that a player making the sole decision is just as, if not more, flawed.

Creating a panel of players would probably be best if you want to do away with the likes system. Taking players like Azoth, Avery, Gideon, etc would probably be your best bet. Have them judge instead of just one guy.

My votes for top choices are

    Jp/BE - 2 man Coon kill
    Zyler - telescope shot
Jack White - SL trick takeover

    @Chris

I've always tried to participate in the SS stuff, even back before it started. I honestly think the like system is okayish, but think player judgement would change it up and make it a little more fair.

There are my picks, glad you had a hissy fit like a 3rd grader BE, good to see your true personality come out because you thought you might not win.

I'm off to work, peace out.

This thread has rambled on quite long enough. Please take any further trash talk or factions related content to the appropriate forums.

I agree @Cynic. Originally, top shot was determined by staff but being that staff is overwhelmed with RL commitments and shard improvements I think having a DIVERSE player run panel might be a good idea.

I was thinking along the lines that everyone can take a turn hosting it every month and set up the rules (if it be by likes, player panel, or personal judging by the poster) kind of like how a group of players will have a deck of cards and dealer picks the game.

Out of all of the ideas, the player panel is usually the best (though staff pick screwed me that one time. remember when I gmd all of the worthless skills like camping and begging ((was the first to do 4 of those on the server I think)) then atraxi went on test and did a screenshot of the same thing and posted it after I posted my (((real char))) and still won. Was a huge wtf moment in ssotm history for me)

Anyhow, I could care less, you can't seem to do anything fun here without people crapping all over it, bad attitudes and communications have become a social disease. I would absolutely love to see people chill out with that mess. (All of you)

I think a panel is a good idea as well. It could even work similar to the deco contest where "likes" (player votes) hold some weighted percentage and then the panel gets the rest of the vote.

Jack - I can appreciate you wanting to try to make things better, but I think changing the rules the night before the contest ends is not the way to go about it. For folks like myself and wylwrk who thought we might have a shot at winning only to be taken out of the running at the last minute is a bit disheartening (just guessing for wylwrk on that last part).

Just my two cents! I had fun making the gif regardless.

I suggest this as a viable alternative to how much you are caring right now.

It's never to late to point out someone who claims to be educated, yet still doesn't know that saying they "could care less" is a misnomer. Good luck in your voting system. lol

No, I said what I meant. At that point I could really care less. I wouldn't have thought it would provoke a reaction such as it did, of course you'd come in on the ass end to provide a few more floaters.

I wouldn't go knocking other people's intelligence, you aren't the shiniest coin in the fountain. You also are one of the biggest contributors to the bad attitudes and negative communications here. You have always been. It's a simple forum search away for proof.

    Now flush along.

Thread's over, someone make one for Oct.

We need someone to run these like Cynic did. Whoever ran this month turned it into a joke. For now on if @Chris is too busy we should have @Azoth or some neutral party creating the topics and should be the same format as June.
