It's called the Royal Britannia Cemetery, and it's close to Justice. My late Guildmaster, Rembrandt, has a memorial marker there.

@Chris: You are full of bullsh*t here! Trying the same with me as you tried with @Mes and TT. Tell me the names. Who quit? Tell them publicly. I can most likely show screens of them running around within a day of gaming.

I've got in touch with any of my houselooting victims except AlexCCCP, because he ignored me, and also posted the negotiation results in public. I always try to make deals and also succeeded with most of them. If you think that house deed guy left the shard, you have no idea about this community and who is playing. As he is still around and blue griefing people from time to time (you think my victims automatically are nice guys only because they were victims? Think again).

It sickens me how you claim stuff to be true, without ANY proof or even slight knowledge of it. Behind my back.

I have zero fear of discussing any of my heists, that is also the reason why I publish most of them, yet I don't see anybody complaining except you thief hater @Chris.

You got a problem with me or thieves in general? Start a discussion thread and receive the appropriate answers.

The de-evolution of this thread's topic and overall intentions is amazing. I saw this coming and tried to derail/distract but I guess this was inevitable.
I usually post for entertainment value but know that on this rare occasion I'm being serious when I say,

I am truly disappointed and ashamed.

People leave because of PKing more than we'd like to think. In the time that I pked more regularly (summer 2013 to summer 2014) I did loot a few houses and watch them fall shortly afterwords and pk some people who made it quite clear they were leaving because of pking. I think most of the reds on the server enjoy watching people get upset and think it's funny if they quit, but they've also learned to keep their identities relatively quiet so that they stay off of Telamon's radar. Whether or not we should make it our top priority to keep the thin-skinned or not, I can't say, it's a philosophical question. How do you keep sheep on a server with healthy unchecked wolves? How do you convince players not interested in pvp to stay on a pvp enabled server when they have other options? Or should you even try? IDK

As for the original poster, I've known him as friend or foe for my entire existence on the server, and I think SJ just wants a chance to experience holiday events without being shut out by groups of reds as has been typical in the past. I know, he can get gud and get a guild, sure, but some people just prefer to play the game alone and casually. I don't think he intended to force any anti-pk rules, just saying it would be nice (for him) if he could participate more fully.

Watching SJ over the years - the pvp groups always like to team up on him. The community often treats him with less respect because he's a self proclaimed thief (nevermind that most everyone has a thief or red on the server.) In contrast, Blackeye does a lot more PVE than anyone on the server realizes, but he makes some effort to not publicize his PVE characters. Same for Jean-Pierre and other thieves. I suspect they get treated a little more nicely when they're out doing PVE.

I'm just making observations, by the way. I don't think SJ was proposing mechanics changes, just saying it would be nice if some people that typically don't get to participate in the overland events had a chance this year.

I think the #1 reason people quit other than rl issues or other games is the nasty attitudes by others in irc and forums. You can go back to day one of the forums til now and see people getting snarked at and jumped on over every little opinion and thing.

And mes is right, I don't want pk changes (would like thief changes)
but always seeing the thief class getting the blame for everything irks me, people on prodo didn't quit because of thieves, they made thieves because of thieves. It's one of the most fun things to do in the game.

It might be a bit off-topic, but most of my toons have public profiles and I show them to everybody who asks about ways to earn gold etc: http://uorforum.com/threads/gold-farming-templates-advice-please.17228/#post-154576
And about the original post: I dont know how that Utopia should come to a Felucca shard. I dont even know if I would like it. SJ, I think you just need to communicate more with other groups etc. One simply can't play all the content as easily as you wish when being the lonely solo cowboy. It makes perfectly sense that PKs and thieves hit the events. It helps alot to have a dozen of trusted people in IRC ready to contact.

Maybe it's a different perspective but I can go farm all day in the same spot without being touched by a single pk maybe people just need guilds that can actually protect them.

LOL I bought my first lil tower farming earth elies!

I think what I was alluding to last night was that we should as individuals be a bit more realistic about what we want and learn how to achieve it. We should also be realistic about what we can expect from other people. I don't think it's the community's job as a whole to address the question of whether we should try to keep the "thin skinned". The individual "thin skinned" players need to decide whether they want to grow thicker skins. This is not a place for the "thin skinned". That's OK. It was meant to be this way. Experienced people need to decide whether they want to teach newer people how to get tougher or if they want to keep beating them down till they leave. I am only speaking to game mechanic related stuff here. PKing, thieving, house looting and all that stuff. Speaking from experience, when I was house looted, it was the shame and embarrassment of it that bugged me more than the value of what I lost.

In this day and age, we as individuals just need to accept more of a responsibility towards how we feel, as opposed to holding other people responsible for it. People do things to further their own agendas and if you leave yourself open they will take advantage of you. You can debate the morality of their actions, or you can protect yourself against them. This game's mechanics allows you a bit more freedom in terms of getting away with nefarious activity than most of our modern social contracts (laws of our societies) do. I always assumed that was why MOST people played it...

EDIT: added a very important word in all caps to the last sentence before Westra tells me I was wrong ;)
