Im currently training cats and dogs and have found something broken according to statistics. Cats, deal no damage. With higher stats than an untrained dog, they simply do not deal any sort of damage and with any sort I mean 0. My cat cannot even damage a bird. Something is amiss. Add to the fix list. Second, there are no random stats on lower level creatures. All creatures have the same stats. This is bad for taming and gameplay with lower level creatures. No use in making chicken pvp tournaments and alike if every chicken has the same stats. There is also no use in searching for that lower lever animal with good "genes", so, less exploration and search for tamers and none tamers. Third, training animals STR has no effect on their life points or ability to deal more damage or gain hit chance. I will continue to investigate but its clear that its not working. If you cannot get code to fix it, I can show you where or offer it.
I think the point of the tournaments is to train up the pets so yours has different (better) stats than others. I think it's known that training STR doesn't impact HP, and intentional. It should help improve damage though; how are you testing this and seeing that not happen? Most pets' base damage is very low and with rounding it's hard to really test this I think. STR doesn't help chance-to-hit at all; that's purely governed by Wrestling skill of the pet.
My cat has 100% wrestling skill according to the game. STR should gain the animal more hit points in proportion to its initial hit point pool. If an animal has 10 HP with its initial STR, at 100 STR it should at least multiply that by 2 or the STR should at least do something with the damage or hit chance. At this point, training a cat and dog does nothing. They simly dont get better in combat. DEX does nothing, STR does nothing and wrestling and anatomy does nothing. The shard bestiary itself declares that cats without training should deal 1-1 of damage with an impact on target. I have been training the cat for three days with a variaty of low level animals as pigs, other cats, dogs, rabbits and birds. All of them wild. At this point she is at 100 on every level possible. Im not saying this should be so for dragons and mares but a little love towards lower level animals should be given. I also suppose that pack buffs are not active.
Thats good to know. I really want to train a five pack bull stampede Pamplona style and make a few adventurers run for their life.
I have done this with grizzly bears and so far have claimed three player souls. Pack bonus is real! I support you in your endeavours. :: gives bear a pat on the head as it munches on marrow from a human femur :: Who's my good boy? Yes! You are! Yeees you are...
This post was a WIN. I wish you wrote paragraphs. I generally miss out on what you have to say due to being OCD and unable to read your preferred format for writing.
Thanks Hala. I just can't commit to a paragraph. We've just never felt right for eachother... I want each thought to be it's own little nebula. Line by line. One at a time... ::begins to babble in broken English:: time for human is over. world is for bull now
I would just like to say.. This thread ended awkwardly and abruptly. I am genuinely intrigued and curious about our growing epidemic with untrainable cats.
