Introduction

Wasn't positive where to post this.. so hopefully i'm in the right spot.

My names Edrick. I'm coming back to UO after 20+ years, and have currently selected Renaissance for my shard. I look forward to putting some time into developing my character, and doing some PvP in the distant future. For now, i'm just getting to learn the basics again, and running around in Ocllo.

I know you're very new and still relearning the ropes, but I recommend thinking about attending this event this weekend if you're available. These player run events are what make this shard great, and you could walk away with a bit of startup money to help you get back into the game a bit more comfortably.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me or post here. If you're looking for a guild that helps out new players, I recommend looking into PS (Project Sanctuary). They're a great group of people dedicated to helping new players acclimate easier. That said, you don't need to join a guild to enjoy everything UO:R has to offer. I just know some new players would rather join a group right away.

Edrick, I'm in the same boat as you just started playing this after 18 years. This game always had a warm place in my heart and getting back into it after experiencing a nostalgic streak.

I played on chessy back then with a small guild called Dark Legacy, me and a couple friends owned a house in player town of Pax just north of McManus's tower. So many fond memories and hoping to build some new ones here.

I can say without a doubt the community here I've met so far is very welcoming. I would suggest reaching out to ReZon here on these forums or IRC and see if he has an extra new player house for use. I just moved into one this week and it's made my noob efforts so much easier. I think the stone house next to me is vacant but ask ReZon.

Will run into you tonight at the lockbox newbie event. Happy to chat and maybe link up with u in Occlo to try and get the most out of this early part of getting back into the game.

That event was pretty fun! I got some goods and got out! What about you?

I did ok, got some loot that prob wouldn't have access to for a while and was able to strike a deal with a couple other competitors for some of the ore commodity deeds and bank checks.
Also nabbed 160 recall scrolls.

All in all a very successful evening.
