NERF AFK FISHING AND BODDING

In my head, I heard "Get to da choppa" after I read that.

And then you fish up serpents that you must kill and loot to get the net or L1 tmap. Most times when I kill a serpent I have to reposition the boat just to open its corpse which really makes complete afk fishing rather not useful.

Honestly I think there is a macro for all of what you described.

Even if you could automate looting, and always direct your monsters to the same place every time (ok whatever), this still means that in order for you to be able to loot the monsters, you'd have to leave your character on the edge of the boat while afk, which puts him at risk of being killed and looted. The only secure places on a boat are in the middle tiles, but you can't loot monsters from those tiles.

I am sorry but from personal experience I have to disagree with everything you say and the quote especially.

I just started the server 5 weeks ago and by now 4 RL friends of mine have started up UO:R as well. Every single one is amazed by this server. the fact that the ~2000 ruleset is applied but so much more content like bods and amibs have been added is what excites us about the server. Yes Brit is a Ghost town, but instead occlo and other towns are busy. yes half of the players online at any given time are just standing around doing nothing or running macros, but that does not change the fact that uor is still the single most active freeshard out there, without much of a competition, despite maybe UO Forever. even (especially) official servers are more of a wasteland than uo:r is. at 600 online players at any given time, even half of that number is more than any other server has concurrent.

At the end of the day, uo always was about giving the players a multitude of options as to how to play the game. bods and fishing are just an extension of that and should not be nerfed.

Holy shit 5 pages! This is why no one plays, they get all their human interaction on the forums. Shut the forums and IRC down then people will HAVE to speak in game

I've solo fished my entire UOR career except one time a few tourneys ago when I had 2 fishers going

Speaking of tourneys, I can't wait to afk trammel fish the F out of Canada Day!

I'm not saying it isn't profitable I fish all the time but if I ever wanted to gross large sums of money quickly there's far better avenues for your time spent. Which is why it's not in need of nerfs imo.

I do like the idea of making people interact more maybe make tracking work better on the oceans exclusively.

Again just because you suck at generating money with fishing doesn't mean it cant be done.
