I met my grandparents at a restaurant 5 min before the eclipse started in Dallas. I wanted to wait, but they wanted to go inside. First total eclipse visible in the USA in almost 40 years, a truly historic event, and I missed it eating tacos.
Aw man that sucks. One of my eyes is messed up a little from staring at the sun when i was a kid (i was a weird kid), so if I close my good eye, i can actually look directly at the sun and not get hurt. I was gonna be one of the few people watching the eclipse with no glasses. The tacos were good, though. Not historic, but whatever.
Damn... I'm sorry guys. I got to see only a partial eclipse. Queued up Pink Floyd - Brain Damage/Eclipse and checked it out. It was neat, but I'm guessing it didn't come close to what the Total eclipse looked like. I'm sad I had to work today and couldn't drive to the Total region.
Kirby, that's a real bummer! Saw a pretty good partial out here in NM. Although, it was one of the few days where we actually had cloud cover. Figures. Now I want tacos...
Now THIS was a hell of a battle! @Pirul I hope you've saved your pennies. The krakens have been multiplying like rabbits lately!
I have yet to see a single SWK. I've gotten about 25 nets, 20 MIBs, and 20 L1 Tmaps, yet no AMIBs, and one 1 Big Fish. Guess the RNG is not with me today. Not giving up though!
I was in the path of totality. I was not buying the hype before, but after seeing it first hand. It was really stunning. I was able to take my glasses off and look directly at the eclipse for the entire min or so. I have a shity video and a crappy picture from my phone. I recommend next time it comes around, take the time to see it for yourself.
Just watching everyone's reactions on NASA tv was pretty inspiring. I'd like to make it to the next one.
