Hello; I've searched through download guides and haven't found anything that addresses this issue. I've been trying to install the game, but I keep getting a message that Razr is corrupted. I've deleted and re-downloaded the program a couple of times, and I'm getting the same message. Who should I contact about this issue?

Howdy - I can't help you out but if you include what OS you're on it might help someone else help you! I know some people were recently having issues with the latest Mac OS update and install.

When you say that you're deleting and re-downloading I want to be sure that you're including both the razor program and Ultima online package that you get directly from the UO renaissance website.

Before deleting find the folders containing both programs and after deletion ensure that they are gone completely. Are you want to PC are you using the add/remove program feature?

Let's be sure of a few things first.

What operating system are you using?
Have you played any other custom player ran UO servers before on that machine?
Where did you get the version of razor that's causing the issue?
Do you know what I mean when I ask, are you running razor in both admin and compatibility mode if using a PC?
    If so are you?

Have you reference the materials at the following link?

    Thanks for your answer.

    I'm using Windows 7 Pro.

I downloaded UO and Razor separately the first time, rather foolishly I downloaded from the UO and Razor websites.

I crashed immediately every time I started the program; basically my character made it about 3 steps before I got a Windows message saying that it had crashed. I went to the "troubleshoot client problems page" and did the following:
-Set both UO and Razor to Run as Administrator
-Set compatibility mode to windows XP service pack 3
-Turned off Smart CPU Usage Reduction
    -Disabled User Account Control
-Excluded UO and Razor from my antivirus and firewall
-Excluded UO from my DEP service

Basically I went through the entire list of suggestions on that page, and nothing resolved the problem.

When I went to delete them, I couldn't find them through installshield (duh), so I deleted them manually. Perhaps this is my issue? How do I resolve this?

I then found that UO Renaissance had a download package; I thought perhaps that would work better, so I downloaded them from this site. I live in the middle of nowhere and use my cell for a hotspot, so it took a while.

After the install, I set UO and Razor to run as administrator and made sure that compatibility mode was set to windows XP.

When I tried to open razor I got a message that the file was corrupted. I deleted it, this time using installshield, then reloaded the software from a fresh download. Once again, when I opened it, I got the same message that Razor was corrupted.

I loved this game back in the day and am dying to return to it; I hope that I can get it running again.

I think, Razor states that your UO client is corrupted. Is the Uo client path the correct one for the client installed from the homepage? Maybe it's the wrong path and tries to connect with your first install.

I'm not sure; here's the message that I'm getting saying that it's corrupted:

System.InvalidOperationException: This Razor installation is corrupted.
    at Assistant.Engine.Main(String[] Args)

Errrr, okay. Try the latest Razor version then: you google “ultima online razor“ and the 4th hit or so leads to UOG demise, there is the latest version. The UO package razor version is very outdated.

Oh, and delete all the files in the Razor appdata folders. You enter the path “ %appdata% “ in the windows explorer. Somewhere there is a Razor folder. There are even more folders for each profile in your windows user private folders. Delete them too.

You still got that not-this-server's-version of UO or any other versions of UO on your machine?

Sorry to have dropped this; I've been moving and am finally settled in my new home.

BlackEye, I've taken your advice. I removed UO and searched for hidden razor files in my system. I've downloaded and installed the most recent version of razor. Whic version of the UO client do I need to have installed to play? I notice that this site only has the full package for download, and I don't want to reinstall the old version of Razor. I assume I'll need to find and download a separate UO client? Thanks for the help; I appreciate it.

I usually just install the UOR client package coming with the old razor. Then deinstall the old razor and install the new one.

You don't want any outside client version, because the UOR client has been slightly edited (graphic files etc).
