Ya I would have just logged out and back in and been on my way in seconds. I am not understanding the hesitation to do this, its a tool in your toolbelt, use it. I can mildly entertain the not wanting to stuck option out as that takes a little longer, but logging out and back in is such a simple, fast solution. If they wanted to grief you they would have friended you instead of banning you. I doubt their intent was to ruin anyones day, but simply to get a kill on nosey people and chuckle amongst themselves. I bet when they saw your ghost and banned they thought to themselves, "wtf is this dude still doing here, he could have left hours ago just by logging out and back in, does he enjoy self flagellation?" I frequently gate to 1-2 tile spots when I think I will be followed, just to punish people who hop gates by dispelling the gate and killing them on the other side. This is part of the game. I feel no need to gate them out, they can stuck option, and I didn't force them to follow my gate. Ultimately they took the gate because they thought there was something worthwhile on the other side, whether that be information or loots. Sometimes nosy people win, and loot houses or gather valuable intel. Sometimes precautious people win, and kill said nosy people. I think the line is drawn when you start "fishing". When its not a matter of making sure you don't have a tail, but more a systematic attempt to pop gates again and again to various hot spot areas, which invariably means new player areas. In other words, do this occasionally and its all good, do it as your new full time job and you will prolly wind up in jail. Everything in moderation.
No you've missed the point completely. They confirmed that I was still there by killing themselves and checking in ghost form as well as addressing me with a "hi". They knew my only options were help / relog. I hung around with the intent to attempt resurrection inside their home and punishing via looting and or killing.
If I was talking to you and or about your situation that you posted about I would've quoted you just like this. I clearly stated earlier in so many words that I do dislike trapping a player in a way that they have to use unusual means to escape. Including things like logging out, or using the help stuck feature. My comment was a jibe at those that enter a gate get killed/stolen from on the other side (open field) and run to management expecting them to the altar and change the game so that this never happens to them again.
Oh, I read the thread, and I cannot believe you didn't just log out and back in or stuck option out lol. You can't even self-rez in a house, how did you picture this plan going off?
Sincere apologies then. Mixed in with the replies that were going on, it did seem directly aimed at me. *tips hat*
Self rez? I don't even know what that is. El Horno, I have other characters on other accounts, like most players here. I was, and did, attempt to rez using los through windows, above the entrance, etc.
You are missing the big picture. You are upset about something, but there are multiple solutions at your fingertips. If you refuse to take said multiple solutions, then sorry, you will find little sympathy from me you nosy thief. How are you going to hop gates and then whine about whats on the other side?
Actually, until you came along we were discussing the finer points of all this. Multiple players have agreed upon how this is seen as a bad thing. I am not upset by it, if you actually did read the thread you'd know this. You are now actually getting under my skin with your inability to comprehend what we've discussed. Now, thanks to your existence, its not a conversation worth holding any longer. Or was that your intent? Who cares. For the first time since being here I now feel uncomfortable. Well done. As for "nosy thief" - is that supposed to be an insult? You filthy tamer! lol I dont even know who you are
*cough* *hack* *cough* Never fear! My warrior has many sins for which he must atone, and having a villan to slay helps maintain that narrative! A wolf hunting shall commence. Then rally together we shall, and pitcheth thy tents abreast the hearth of the villan's dwelling.
I've enjoyed most of the discussion back and forth (and that most of the time it's logical and unemotional), but really... this should be moved outta here!
