Been making a couple PvP chars to start using for after the Christmas events. Have very little pvp experience in the realm of UO but want to start getting involved so there may be more questions on the pvp forum eventually. Anyway, are ethereal mount price tags worth the convenience or is there a strong argument for just keeping a stock of regular mounts in the stable?
Whether or not it is "worth" the convenience is subjective. I can say its unarguably more convenient to have an ethy.
I pvp with and without ehtys. Typically when its all over if/when I die I am going to rez and recall back to the house and restock. grabbing 550 is just like grabbing more mandrake root. So for pvp prolly not worth it unless you have loads of extra plat and need something to buy. The times I need a ethy is when I am on my triple box tamer and one of the toons go down at a champ spawn. I dont usually take mares so having a ethy keeps me at the location. 3 of my 4 ethys are usually my tamers and the other is on my stealth thief.
Thanka guys. And @Larloch i was pretty much thinking the same thing. Essentially restocking a horse along with regs when needed. Ill hold off for now and see what its like on the battle field.
I'd prioritize a bless runebook over an ethy, at the moment I can't afford either, but they're both very much needed.
When I was on OSI/EA towards the end I had a red necro mage that raped people and ethe is the only way to go
I imagine you got at least one blessed runebook already. Def get ethy. Not only does it make you look cool BUT you will no longer need to spend 500 gp on horses or keep stables full with llamas. That's a waste of time just like not having go bags ready for if/when ya die. Also if ya die in field ya don't gotta worry about finding your mount or worry about it dying. Deff get a ethy buddy
I had blessed book and ethy within 5 months. No excuses cheapsuit. And their not supposed to be easily obtainable bud
But according to what he said, a new player is gonna be a loser for at least "5 months". Is this how it should be, is the question.
A player is NOT considered a loser for not having a ethy. The only person thinking that is you man. They aren't a need to have type of item, but it does help in certain areas. @Mandevu rolls around on a horse mostly from what I've seen and spanks ppl weather they are on ethies or not. So that's just not true. Some players just have diff preferences is all.
I'm not the one who said it lol but sure I'll take the heat for it, I'm used to it and I have the thickest skin
