Until Publish 89, the timers were the same as here. Now when IDOC it can be 5, 10, or 15 hours. People are not happy about the changes applied, as they don't want to wait up to 15 hours for the random timer to hit.

If you had actually read the thread...or even just Chris' posts you would have stumbled upon this:

I've been re-reading. I see Chris' posts, I see some logic to it all. It's unfortunate that I don't agree with some of it. Which, alas, is going to mean I am going to have to bow out.

I hate bots, in all their forms, in all games. AFK Automation should never affect another player in my opinion.
I hate that out of game solutions to in game problems are expected, no, encouraged here. In this case: the screenshot taking.

I'm going to have to be that guy that was beating the dead horse and just accept it. It's become very, very clear, that this thinking will not change.

I suppose I can still hope for consistency.

@Chris If this automation is allowed, why can we not ghost in dungeons? or, is it a ban on over world too? I may misunderstand this rule, I've not read it apart from in posts from others. Lastly, apologies if this thread hits a nerve due to repetition and/or I have missed this piece of information within the thread. There's a lot of text.

For the sake of argument, I'll try to explain something that Chris had issue with, as I see it.

I see this in the total reverse. It would discourage botting, as the bots would be less effective. It would encourage attended play, as well as smaller groups would both feel AND have a better chance. The better chance would be caused by their being no known time it will drop, only a window. This means that EVERYONE can be caught off guard, but only the most attentive can reap the rewards of being the first to start looting. Automation shouldn't be rewarded, playing the game should.

    Again, in my opinion.

The man has a point... Right now there is no work required by the big IDOC crews on the lead up to a collapse..(I've researched it too) It's all automated and all they do is hit a button and collect the MILLIONS! It all started with @Gideon Jura (who hacks)

It's really not fair, this shard has nothing fun to do outside of IDOCs and Joe and his gaggle of veteran players are bullying the rest of the community out of the fun, everyone should be able to play this way!

We stop Joe, we stop automation (of everything, training, crafting, mining, fishing, looting!) and we make it so houses just drop randomly! Screw this 3-5 hour random window crap.. that will be too easy for people to organize and work as a team to pick up loot - that would be unfair!.. We need a real random window something like 10-12 hour! yes.. that way, it's completely random.. no one has a chance and it comes down to luck! Good old, fair luck! Shit the dragons.. people use dragons... fuck.. yeah I donno...

This current system of open world, felucca, "play how you want" (with a few simple rules to prevent complete trolling) is bogus and this shard wont last. There are too many people playing how they want and I don't like it! Sorry @Chris You've run a good thing for 5 years.. but the people have spoken - we're doomed!

I believe both sides has some valid points which is what makes it a hard call from Chris's position and it will never be a win/win for him on this topic as long as there are people who feel strongly about their opinion on both sides which he runs into quite often.

I dont see the automation as an issue because it's available to everyone and the ones who use it for idoc still have to put plenty of effort into what they do with that information and as a fundamental user of razor, i actually find it fascinating what people can do with it and it makes me want to learn more.

We're not in the days anymore where we assign hiding to spacebar and leave a heavy object (stapler) on it to let it gain all day. We are and have been for quite some time now, using a tool (uo assist, razor, uo steam, sallos) to improve effiency in macros. Using a restock agent alone is a form of automation.

I don't disagree with everything @JimmyTheHand says, but i do side more with the "no" side of it.

I have more to say, but i gotta get back to work unlike you bums.

A timer is not a resource. This is fundamental. Literally yesterday I was asked to help at an idoc. We secured 100% of the loot and pushed off the lone challenger ( who had a timer). His timer counted for shit tho since he didn't have the muscle to secure the area. A timer alone is never enough.

ROFL i cant believe ive missed this thread some how. IDOCS will never be changed. CPU took a break from IDOCs mostly because we got so rich and we got lazy. We are making a coming back soon so if anyone wants a try out for a legit IDOC crew where @binlagin bot does all the work for us after we find the house IRC Sterling

I'm surprised this needs to be brought up, but simply put; there is no counter to a ghost watching from peace mode at the moment. It allows the spectator to have a 100% safe way of monitoring something with absolutely no real preparation, effort or skill, simply leave a ghost in Ice and log in every time you want to spy on people killing AoL.

You can kill house ID bots, track them, unhide them, lure mobs, you can block their spots, block their LoS, you can do so many things to prevent an established IDOC crew from gaining an advantage if you work at it, but a ghost in a dungeon can run 24/7 and might as well be invulnerable for their purpose.

I expect the counter argument to this is something along the lines of the fact ID bots require minimal skill/preparation/etc, but just try leaving an ID bot outside a decent IDOC and see how long it lasts.
