That's terrible. It's one thing to grab something at a bank and run. This is a whole different level. You're not just stealing in a game you're stealing a player's hours and hours worth of work and effort. Shame! Shame!

As a thief, all I have to show for my hours of play is other people's work and effort.

I'm not sure I follow what you're saying.

    Besides the whole "shame" bit

That's my point. You don't get it.
Anonymous games usually reveal the true character of the player through their playstyle.

At some point you should at least think... wow, maybe this is a little too over the top.

Just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should.

I don't think you realize the hours that go into getting a score like this...

It is easy to be 100% thief proof... if you aren't, you're subject to the game.

If you think his point is the hours in effort it takes to obtain as much as this score, then you're not understanding.

Real life emergency happened and I rushed, thought i locked my door but was more concerned with irl than what was going on in game. Am I a little salty? Of course, but it's just a game. Yea, I've been collecting all that for almost a year now and it's a lot of stuff I've been pretty pumped to use for house deco contests since that's an aspect of the game I enjoy doing.

But I know full well in playing this game, felluca set rules, and certain types of players that they aren't gonna take it easy on most no matter their real life situation. It's a game. If it's that important to someone like crooks, he can have it so he can save up for another pair of sexy ass sandals. I have a kick-ass support system with my guild-mate's and that is the more enjoyable part of UO for me and that's why the loss hasn't impacted me as much as I would have thought before it happened. And that's what I focus on, not the lost pixels.

    But @The Crooked Warden,

The cussing out was light-hearted joking. I mean, I get to throw one his way. He did reach out after I pmed him asking me for a value on everything. But I honestly had no idea what the value would be. And honestly it would be way more than what I would want to pay back for everything and I probably wouldn't even have enough for it all anyway. Time to pursue other projects.

@Duke Cannon like we discussed, I am willing to sell it back at a discounted rate if you have interest in buying it back. As a 2x deco contest winner myself, I can relate to your cause.

As I was tailoring away on my rooftop I noticed one of the doors to my fortress open mysteriously... I already had two tamers logged in on the lower levels hidden close to the entrance for just such occurrences. A quick click of accounts revealed a thief I hadn't encountered before. Locke quickly dispersed from my dwellings with a quick recall out. For the record I only run my ban macro if someone gets beyond the wall itself. If someone has a rune then they'll just return on another account anyways, and my CY runes are out in abundance as it is. As I was feeling quite content with spotting the intrusion I went back to tailoring away when all of a sudden I got private message via IRC. It was aa UOR numbered account. A conversation started about the trip to my humble household, and how he had caught my gate a bit earlier out of Jhelom. He then informed me he chose not to take the multitudes of gold I was unlocking and placing in bag for transport to a bank rooftop. I needed to move 300k for purchase I was making. I did thank him, and felt the contentment I had been feeling slip away. My thanks to you Locke... and I do look forward to reading of some of your future endeavors.
About an hour later that same door mysteriously opened yet again : ( Still tailoring, and the same setup below I quickly revealed and the thief ran outside quick as he had come in. of the lake had stopped through to ensure my security was up to date :) After our usual conversation in the CY I went back to my tailoring and he swiftly cleaned up my courtyard as he has on so many occasions : ) I enjoy the conversations I have with the many visitors I get.

I agree it takes some effort to pull some heists off, I'm yet to see one that wasnt simply opportunistic. A gate jump and wait. An unlocked door. Ran past and a table wasnt locked down. Or simply, someone using an item to block they thought would work, but actually left them open. Do correct me with an example if I'm wrong, this is just what I've read/seen/done. :)

100% correct. It takes a few items placed properly and a DH/Ban macro to be impervious to this. We all make mistakes though, sometimes there is just perfect timing from a player that allows them to take advantage of that mistake!

Crooked Warden... it isn't legendary. If you wanted to be legendary, you should have made the post, shown what you had done, and then gave it back but made him buy it for 1 gp. That would have been legendary.

Anyone with the right timing can check houses to see if they are locked/unlocked and loot them. It's a whole different level to be able to do it and then give it back.

Okay. Did I say it was legendary or anything of that sort? I get it, you're not a fan. That's fine with me.
