    Loot Secure Theif.JPG @JimmyTheHand
    1. For instance my main room is where i dump loot, its unsecure
    2. I have 1 table wall that has secure chests all across it to access and dump amazing stuff
    3. I have a chop barrel that I move to get to my restock chests and suits of armor ect...
    4. I have another layer behing the restock that I have to remove a table to get to and that has everything I own of significance that is not blessed or locked down.
If I want to restock I chop the barrel and its a 1 tile run way, they will walk through me or i will walk through them IF I do not detect...
So if I want to refill my restock (3) I have to go through multiple layers of security to access it...
Also on top of my house I have monster statues locked down and turned on so if you stealth around my house I'll hear them sound off and alert me someones inside if I'm not paying attention.

This is really basic security, DETECT EVERY TIME. I was in a hurry ONE TIME for some RL stuff that happened on a phone call, Black eye happened to get in THAT TIME and stood for 3 hours at my table wall :)

@Ron Jeremy Haha that is some nice security. Seems like it worked, Blackeye got nothing I assume?
True opportunity did not present itself and he was revealed upon your return? :D

That fits my metion of jump a gate and wait.

Also, thanks for the schematics! ;)

    *plans most elaborate heist ever*
    You have been revealed. :p

On that note - I certainly don't play the game based on the same moral compass I use in RL.. I think your extrapolating a little much here. The odd's of pulling something like this off are very fucking slim, Crooked commits to his play style and I'd assume he got a little (big) chubby when this went down - pretty much end game stuff for a thief. Sure it sucks - but Duke power gamed his way here. He'll do it again.

Plus Duke's allies are notorious house looters, they can help him seek revenge.

Just want to say i dont know which allies of mine are house looters. Idocers, i believe they were in a previous guild but if they have house looting on their resume, that's new to me. Either way, i mainly just chat with them on occasion because they just want to have a good time and im pretty sure they took pity on me because they use to smoke me everytime i was in a dungeon (not great at pvp and defending myself).

I'm not much of a revenge seeker, especially when it comes to pvp. Just not part of uo that ive partaked in much unless i need to defend myself and even then, i cant even call myself an amateur.

I just like coming on uo, doin my own thing and also engaging in some pvm with my few guildies.

Not the first time crooks has gotten into my house (hopefully the last) and i didnt learn my lesson then. So thats all on me. I was in between house moves where my stuff was sitting unsecure for only a couple days and he had great timing for that situation along with me having been afk and my door being unlocked. Sucked but it was the least of my worries.

Crooks ended up letting me off easy on a lower blackmail payment than i was expecting and i took it. I appreciate that he did that especially when he could have sold it for much more.

I think for some people, their irl moral compass does extrapolate (had to look that term up and i like it) a bit more into uo than others and for people like that and me, it makes it harder for us to understand why players enjoy doing those kinds of things to other players.

With that said though, i didn't choose UOR for a trammel lifestyle and certainly understand the consequences of certain actions or lack thereof. We have thieves and to be oblivious to their tactics with all the information uor has on house security only makes it my fault. I get that. Hopefully my misfortune helps others take the time to be more thorough with their home security.

On this fine morning, The Warden left his home to continue the quest to tax the rich. After stalking a few patrons at Blood Elementals and Elder Gazers with little success, he began his rounds at the local banks. Although very risky to conduct business so close to where he lay his head, he found a sleeping Lord of the lands just steps from his own home. A quick snoop revealed 6 shiny platinum coins (thought to be worthless to some) nestled deep within his trammel bags. A quick use of a fireworks wand distracted the guards just long enough for him to make a getaway with the coins.

Today I did a quick run before I had to leave home.

Five minutes in I find myself in a house, packing this into a bag for gating away, while the owner repeatedly tried revealing and banning me:

In this era of door opening and auto-banning macros, how is this even possible!? Still entertaining though, I imagine there was some frantic mouse movements from both parties :D

My favorite house to loot strikes again! Knowing that this house had recently changed hands again, I've been keeping a pretty close eye on it. The opportunity arose today and the front door was just unlocked. Using my new boots of the rogue (hype), I picked my way through the fort. All of the REAL valuables were likely locked down or not moved in yet, but I got away with quite a haul. I left with a huge stack of hcoins, tons of eggs, a full bod collection, some nice slayers, and assorted resources and rares. I was cut short by the player returning, but am happy with my second large haul from this same house.

I just need to take a second here... for anyone who hasn't read this thread or doesn't know me... this isn't my first house looting...

Having dealt with several people in a similar situation (having just lost something), I have to share some observations...

@Ragnar Lothbrok demonstrated a few things that I seldom see:

    1. lulz.

To clarify, we had a good laugh about the whole situation. It's a game after all, and we both had an exciting little while due to some amazing UOR mechanics. I love this game and this server. It was fun to share the moment with another player who could see it for what it was.
    2. Desire to Improve.

This guy went out of his way to figure out what went wrong, how it went wrong, what mechanics he misunderstood, and how he could avoid it in the future. There was no QQ. There was no salt. We had a good chat and I even helped him figure out the exact mechanics. This game is deep and some of the mechanics aren't initially intuitive. Instead of blaming the mechanics, he did what most successful long-term players here that I've seen do... tried to increase his knowledge and find a better way to accomplish the things he wants to accomplish. I've certainly come a long way since I started here, but always have things to learn and technique to refine.
    3. Class

There were no flames or salt in IRC. There was no toxic forum post. No begging for items back. The guy even congratulated me. This is what happens when you exist in a sandbox with adults. I'm sure he'll get me back when I least expect it in game. I can't wait.
Anyways, after seeing the exact opposite of this over and over, I felt like I needed to point out when people are legit.

    10/10 would loot again.

the man is totally right , my mistakes lead to him getting some of my (yes hard time earned items) . you know what it is a game , we all know it is not Trammel and we need to remember there are different professions in this game , each to his own , you get your and i get mine ...... LONG LIVE UOR
yes it was a good chat with the man that "caught me with my pants down". but guess what. i still have my fort :)) i know this is time spent but if it is not fun then it makes you take the break, this just makes me go out harder and get what i want . it is just a game everyone plays it diff , if you don't like how this is played then find a TRAM shard

Unfortunately, detect hidden does not work for entirety of your Fort CY. I learned this the hard way as well. :(
