I think it would be cool to add a lesser monster group to each faction:

    Minax: Orcs

Shadow Lords: Undead (up to normal lich)

    True Brits: Lizardmen

    Council of Mages: Ratmen

These would drop less silver than the current stronger faction monsters. I also think the orc RP guilds could join and they don't have to worry about mask/explosions, undead RP guilds can have fun also with SL.

Factions isn't purely about pvp, so you are wrong there. Order and Chaos is about pvp and I don't see none of that going on. Getting a guild of orcs into Minax would boost members to pvp as well. So, you are against pvp in that aspect because they roleplay? I'm sure they would love to capture a human town, and make some blessed axes. They could run freely through orc cave without incident and fight ratmen for silver. Or run around the corner to the swamp and fight lizardmen. They love shinies also... why the hate? Why don't SL break up if you think factions should be about pvp, why are the fights so lopsided? You guys want pvp so bad 6 show up to fight one (common complaint on irc).

Just to address your last point. Why don't the current Minax, CoM and TB guys just join a single faction? Why should we have to break our group of friends up because everyone is so damn whiny about our numbers?

I'm seriously considering dropping a MoP stone (Mercenaries of Paws) to join factions and just be available for hire.

Somebody push me over the edge here.

I'd envision that you can pick up a MoP just like you can any NPC fighter or paladin. You find a MoP at Paws, hire him up, and s/he will fight by your side for as long as possible. They will KoS any enemy of yours (even another MoP if they've been hired by an opposing faction).

I will put together a guild and set up some clear cut rules if anybody is interested in this.

Probably to the tune of 10k per hour, with the assurance that Jupiter of Paws will cover any grievances if a MoP member leaves sooner than their contract (i.e. if RL requires a MoP to leave sooner you should be reimbursed).

I came up with an idea that may promote more recruits into factions, then slapped with "factions = pvp" as if more people doesn't = pvp?

I don't really need a town to control, about the only thing more members would give me. I get pvp action every once in awhile, whether 8 SL show up or 1 it is fun to me (so long I'm not dry looted).

Oh well, with patch 50 people can ally monsters so I guess we won't get much more members... screw factions, piece of shit.

    lol

I think the idea is fairly decent. I think the limited areas where factioners can farm silver kind of blows. If the drops were slimmer it would be all well and good, but the real issues arise with alignment and factioners basically running for spawns that will protect them all the time. Maybe that's a good thing as it will give those outnumbered a bit more leeway. The problem is that people will always find a way to abuse it, if it can be abused.

As for the faction numbers, people just need to sack up and team up. Factions is NOT about 2v2v2v2, it's about big groups and big fights for control of large areas and benefits for the team. Everyone cries about the amount of SL there are and I never hear a damn tear about another faction not wanting to align. I'd put money on the reason being that they are just too afraid/proud to ASK.

If I'm not too proud to put water under the bridge with my enemies, to form a good team and play with people I can learn a good deal from, anyone can.

We won't get new shit because for some reason, everything about factions gets "abused". Nobody wants to join factions because there isn't shit to do in factions, there are a ton of GOOD players on one team, any new players would be sub-par and just lose their items that they are farming to obtain. Not to mention they are BURIED under all the other goodies being dumped on them, so good luck waiting for an opponent to show up!!!! Maybe 2015 will throw us a bone? I'm not going to waste time building up a team when faction trap removal is screwed up the way it is.

It has worked out ok in the past, even with Tinkering being required. Minax, CoM and SL have all dropped and removed traps in the line of duty. I'm sorry you've died to them more than once, while factioning solo. We've had good battles and I hardly think we have a 'ton' of good players. We have a good number and about a matching number of not-so-good players. If either CoM or Minax paid attention during that last significant wave of new PvPers coming on board, they would have made a recruiting effort to build a solid team worth looking twice at. If new players are taking a serious loss by losing their gear they farmed for, they are not ready for factions. I have enough to lose and so should anyone who considers themselves ready. Unless you were only planning on being ready for one fight.

The incentive should be the fight, not freebies at the end of the tunnel. I'm not factioning hoping for platinum or mad lewts, just consentual combat and potentially some bonuses for town control. Presently those bonuses are limited but I'm not going to be mad that it's not top priority.

All told, if you want MORE action, start training folks and posting threads recruiting for your faction, not complaining about lack of action. We'll be here, ready to go when you are.
