    Hi, new tamer on this shard

    I got this off another thread: "There is a 24 hour timer before you can bond a pet. This timer is initiated by feeding it any food that it enjoys. A single piece of food begins this process, you do not need to feed it regular food based on the amount of control slots. Since you stabled without actually feeding it first, the timer was never initiated. Once the timer has passed (you can get this info by animal loreing the pet), you can bond it. Any single control slot tames do not even require peculiar meat, just regular meat. Tames which have greater then 1 control slots will require to be fed 1 peculiar meat per control slot required."

    Where do I get peculiar meat?

    Also, is White Wyrm better than dragon against mobs?

    finally, can you release a bonded animal to get a new one bonded?

    Peculiar meat has a chance to drop from mini bosses that spawn when Killin mobs(monsters). When boss dies you carve corpse with a dagger

    I'd prefer dragons to farm if I did cause WW doesn't have firebreath .

    Yes you can transfer a bonded to another toon and it will become unbonded, freeing up the slot to bond a new creature.

    Good luck and welcome to the shard

    Also, once a pet is bonded it can be transferred and bonded again by feeding regular meat. Sometimes you will see people selling 'pre-bonded' dragons etc...

    WW are also supposedly harder to control. But if you have a mask of the wilds to help control them, I think their higher dex will outscore the dragons' fire breath for damage per second.

    Welcome to the shard! I remember seeing you around briefly once in Jhelom when you were training taming.

    Others already answered your questions, but there is probably a lot more than can be said about dragons vs. white wyrms. This is a mixture of what people have told me and what I have concluded after reading a lot of forum posts with your same question in mind. Keep in mind that some people have very strong opinions on WWs vs dragons.

    - Overall fully trained dragons beat fully trained white wyrms for general game play;
    - An untrained white wyrm is better than an untrained dragon for general game play;
    - For really long fights, a high-dex white wyrm will be really good because of sustained damage output after mana is all gone
    - Dragons have fire breath which allegedly does better against some MOBs that are resistant to tamers
    - Because dragons have more HP, they can tank well on high DPS MOBs, especially if you aren't really quick on heals;
    - For white wyrms, dex is the really important stat.
    - White wyrms are harder to get because they only spawn in one place, PKs love to visit that place, and you have to use para field taming (no rock formation taming)
    - White wyrms can eat gold to improve loyalty, which is convenient. But they do ignore commands more often than dragons.
    - Opinions are mixed about which is better against defending against PKs. I've read someone claim WWs are better because they are sort of more aggressive/faster, yet others have said dragons will burn a PK to a crisp very quickly via fire breath.

    Any tips for a peace/disco bard who has a friend that has GM'd taming but never actually tamed anything aggressive?

    A good tip might start with "to not die, try the following:"

    If you are talking about teaming up together, it should be pretty easy. Keep using peacemaking on the dragon while your friend tames. Cast a heal here and there if the peacemaking fails.

    I just tame things alone. Cast a paralyze field then tame it while it's stuck. While the taming is going, cast the next para field. Try not to run out of mana. If the terrain is not level and the para fields don't work well, just cast paralyze over and over. With 2 of you this would be super easy. You can both keep casting para or field on it.

    Yeah .. i think the WW's dex makes them slap mobs crazy fast. I would personally drop peacemaking and pick up provo.

    Peacemaking is great for training taming. I got mine to 100 by peacing hell hounds, then taming them. Just not great against dragons... since they aggro something like 19 out of 20 attempts.

    That’s a great idea! Temporarily get peace on your alt GM tamer, pick up a bunch of hellhounds and release them at home for your training tamer to work on. Beats having to put your mare on each one and dance around the room while taming them.

    This sounds grueling. I gmed all my tamers using 4th tame bulls. Nice and orderly and you never need to leave towns/houses or deal with any aggro.

    Yeah... it gives you a good 10 taming attempts or so before they go aggro again!
