While this may not affect many people there are several groups that it would. The current idea is the instancing of the Harrower. The Harrower is meant to be the biggest and baddest PvM challenge on the UO world, included in that challenge is having to fight off raiders, pks, or another group of people who want your plat. To instance the harrower is a travesty that cannot be allowed. There are a couple quick fixes that would make tracking remotely impossible and allow everything else to return to the status quo. 1) Keep the skull altar exactly as is but introduce a 1 hour decay timer onto the skulls after they have been placed (like regular items that are dropped on the floor). Then its not possible to track via macro (unless you place a new blue skull every hour and nobody is doing that) 2) Instead of placing 6 skulls on the altar you turn in 6 skulls somewhere, or simply double click any skull while all 6 are in your backpack to be given an item that you use while standing on the altar steps to start the harrower. (still an open world harrower just a different method to start it) If you have any other suggestions that would allow turning the harrower back on and being fair for all involved.. also feel free to give some suggestions!
Smash your poll format sucks. It should be. 1. Open World - Keep it as is. 2. Open world but add a change to putting skulls on altar 3. Instances 4. Other ideas.
i read his wording differently.. and other people are echoing it being instanced. but we could all be wrong.
Thats Telamons post from the Harrower 2018 thread. it can be interpreted in a couple different ways.. but at the moment people are concerned its going to be instanced - which we dont want.
i cant think of how it could be reproduced easily. it would be easier to recall to check champs. i hope you are right - we have people in our group that only enjoy champing, etc. this disruption has taking away from their reason to play at all. the sooner this is resolved the sooner everyone can enjoy this great shard again.
My option - forget about it for a while and do something else in game. After being in irc last night, I really thought we were only one "Telamon where's CUB???" away from him saying screw you guys I'm going home and pulling the plug on the whole thing.
Is the idea of fixing the bladed item code off the table? It seems like a major bug and as others have pointed out, there are a lot of other unfair applications of it.
Yeah your poll options are too confusing. I like your idea of starting the spawn while skulls are in your pack. Basically something that requires people to physically scout the areas to look for active events. Anything trackable is no good. I agree that instance is no good as well. More importantly, which champ group is looking for 3 reliable members? My brother and I, as well as a lifelong friend play here, and would like to get involved. PM me. *dab*
