    General Ingame Rules

    Conduct
As a felucca server without trammel most everything goes in the game world with some specific examples.
    • Racial, Homophobic and other derogatory slurs are discouraged in the game world.
Note: Occasional outbursts will result in a warning, while patterns of behavior can warrant more specific punishment.
    • Discouraging Gameplay
Just because this is a felucca world does not give players the permission to harass and discourage other players in ways that exceed the boundaries of common sense.
If your conduct is judged to be primarily focused on activities that will result in players no longer enjoying playing on Renaissance this conduct will be addressed.
Examples of understood felucca game play:
      • Killing a player in a dungeon, looting their items
      • Stealing from players
      • Looting other players houses.
      Examples of discouraging game play:
      • Telling them to get good or gtfo off the server
      • Excessive verbal harassment
      • Trapping players in locations that force them to use the help stuck system to escape
      • Using ghost scouts to track players locations in dungeons and at champion spawns
      • Excessive attempts to scam other players.
      • Spreading false narratives regarding the development and direction of the server. (aka fear mongering)
Note: When in doubt, if you think a certain behavior is discouraging to other players, then do not do it. It is not our job to provide an environment where players can prey on other players outside the expected world mechanics. If the staff notices a pattern of behavior that indicate to us that a player does not appreciate their access to the Renaissance server and exist here only to torture others for their own amusement you will be removed from the community.

    Account Limitations
    • There will be a 3 account limit on Renaissance per player.
We are concerned with a balanced environment for our players, not with our online player count.
    • You may request additional accounts for family members, provided some additional rules are followed.
Sharing access to your accounts with others is expressly forbidden and can result in losing access to the shared accounts.
    • Exclusions to this policy will be made should multiple players share the same internet access.
Multiple accounts per household will be required registered and linked together.
    • Conduct of one player in a household will affect all players in that household. No exceptions.
    • Please choose unoffensive and non obscene character names.
Should your character name be deemed inappropriate it will be changed, this is a family game.
    • Accounts will never be deleted due to inactivity.
    Housing & Boats
    • All characters on Renaissance will be able to own a single house.
    • Houses decay in approximately 14 days.
    • Houses will enter a condemned status if the account is inactive for 90 days.
    • Boats decay in approximately 14 days.

Soliciting Transactions for any Real Currency
    • Buying or Selling items for any form of currency outside the game world, virtual or tangible is not allowed.
    • Should you be caught buying or selling items in this manner the items in question could be subject to deletion.

    Unattended Macroing
    • Unattended macroing using razor is allowed with the following conditions
      • No other software may be used for repetitive tasks
      • You may not gather items and resources unattended.
This includes, but is not limited to, mining, lumberjacking, fishing, lockpicking chests in dungeons and town, sheep shearing and cotton harvesting
      • You may not sell items to NPC's unattended.
      • You may not place houses unattended.
      • You may not collect items in any manner unattended.
Regardless if it is farming, rare hunting, using the scavenger agent. Please do it attended.

    Permitted Third Party Applications
    • Allowed
      • Razor
      • UOAM
      • UO Rudder
      Explicitly Not Allowed
      • Easy UO (EUO)

Surely account deletion and IP banning make for appropriate punishment.

Houses decay in approximately 14 days.
Houses will enter a condemned status if the account is inactive for 90 days.

o.k. this confuses me some. If decay in 14 days, doesn't that mean goes into condemned status at that time?
Thanks for the clear cut rules. Appears to be totally fair, both to players who can use programs like razor to macro and players who
can't. LOL We all grab resources on same level.
Appreciate all your folks hard work

Re: Shard Rules Update - 6/30/12

A home decaying and being condemned are two totally different things. When a home decays in 14 days it simply falls to the ground and is no more. A condemned home is where a home is being refreshed by players who are not the owner, but are on the friends list. If the house owner does not log into his accounts for 90 days (he/she has obviously quit) the home will enter into a "condemned" state. This means that anybody on the friends list can no longer refresh the home and it will fall in 14 days unless the owner logs in to refresh the house.

Re: Shard Rules Update - 6/30/12

So after 90 days the house becomes condemned but it will take another 14 days to fall unless the owner returns?

So technically there are over 100 days for the owner to refresh as long as his friends do it in between?

    Not important just wondering :)

Re: Shard Rules Update - 6/30/12

That's correct. In order for a house that is condemned to fall, the account of the home owner must first become inactive (90 days no login), at which time the house status will also become condemned. A condemned house does not automatically get refreshed to "like new", it simply continues at its current decay level. So yes, if an instance were to happen where a friend was refreshing a house, and then it became condemned, from "like new" until the house itself actually falls, could be just over 100 days for the entire process to complete.

Re: Renaissance Shard Rules - Updated 6/30/12

Uoassist should be highlighted to as Explicitly Not Allowed as it is a replacement for uorazor and has an auto loot function. Which could be abused and some people think because it has the same functions as razor which is fine the auto loot part makes it unfair.

Re: Shard Rules Update - 6/30/12

    Howdy,

Does the house owner have to refresh the house every 90 days to stay out of the condemned state or is it good enough for any one of the characters on the owner's account to log in to the game (refreshing no houses) at least once every 90 days?

    Thanks,
    Wil

    Howdy,

This verbiage is a a little confusing to me... Do you mean that a single household (IP address) can have 15 characters but only 10 of the 15 characters can have a house?

    Regards,
    Wil

Its specific to the instance of multiple account-holders on a single IP. All users on a single IP can have 15 chars/3 accounts, but each user will only be allowed 10 houses on their three accounts.

This is a planned function long long down the road. We stated it in the rules for now, as at some point when we implement the household system we will design it so one player, from one IP address can own up to 10 houses. So if a family players from a single IP, they could use 6 accounts, however they would still face the limit of 10 houses. Other things as well, like collecting BOD's, or working off murder counts.

There has been some discussion in IRC about using the Orion client but I assume this is covered by "Non Electronic Arts(EA) or Origin Systems (OSI) Clients" as "Explicitly not allowed"?

"As a felucca server without trammel most everything goes in the game world with some specific examples."

    Perhaps you meant "exceptions"?
