A study on blacksmithy (How To Train Your Blacksmith)

It would be interesting to get measurements for 10/25/50 STR or so, to see how big the practical impact is. Probably not very big, as most ingots are consumed in the high skill range where Real Skill and Displayed Skill differ the least. But it may shave off some in the lower skill range, and it'd be interesting to see just how much

What was your STR for the test run?

Can a miner smelt weapons and armor without blacksmithy, or vise versa.

Smelting is actually a mining ability. Smelting colored items requires the mining skill it takes to dig that color. (Iron does not require any skill)

I didn't have mining on mine, always smelted on a separate character. I just dropped off items into a bag and had the miner running a smelt macro from the bag.
