Hi all. I have created a provo mage, His skills are something like this: Gm magery, resist, evaluate inteligence, meditation, provocation, musicianship. Swordmanship. Should i drop swordmanship for wreastling?

Yes, I would drop sword and put wrest instead.

What about stats? 90 45 90 should be good to survive against mind blast.

Definitely drop swords since you don't have anatomy or tactics. Wrestling is supposed to help you get interrupted less often so that doesn't seem like a bad idea to try out first. You could also do hiding, discordance, pecemaking, or maybe even tracking or inscription if you want to get fancy.

Provo mage needs hiding. Pks will barely be able to track you. Provo the mobs, cast magic reflect or protection (prevents cast interuption), hide, sit and watch them die...if reds come in 1) stay hidden and pray or 2) press your escape hot key that casts recall, says " Too Slow Noobs" and targets your runebook or rune, and pray location ain't blocked ;)

That is what I run on my provo bard too. Mindblast will kill you quickly, but it's a small price to pay for extra mana and being able to carry more loot. IMO you have 3 choices when attacked:

    1. Escape. Set up a hotkey to recall and target a rune that will never be blocked. Most of the time you can get out before a PK can get to you.
    2. Try to survive and fight back. Most decent PKs like @Skunk Ape will give you a "grace period" after killing you and if you fight back it might make them very happy/appreciative for the fun and they may not loot you at all. For PKs who are not decent, you have option 3.
    3. Feed murder counts. You can give a murder count every 5 minutes maximum. No PK here will be able to keep up with that and go deep into stat loss. Have an alt in town that can reverse gate to where you are farming, rez, return. With this setup you don't even need to carry a rune or regs on your bard! If I could get someone to keep killing me I'd forget about farming, go get 2 more characters and keep at it as long as they would.

I use hiding. For me hiding is an awesome skill that can be used in a lot of ways!

I did exactly this while farming gold and no PK ever got me! Sometimes it was a little close but with hiding und reflect up it is super hard for them to catch you.

I agree with what everyone said here. I would highly recommend tracking as well. This skill costs nothing to train, can be macroed afk in two days, and is invaluable for holiday events. My Provo mage has tracking and hiding, and serves multiple purposes.

I guess inscription could work too with the extra circles of magic reflect if you dont want to use hiding

I'd consider your base skills to be:

    Magery
    meditation
    Music
    provocation

Leaving 3 'wild card' skills and I would recommend:

Tracking, Hiding and eval int or detect hidden.

Your main damage comes from provocating monster on monster and using summons like blade spirits / energy vortexs and possibly evan Daemons and Evaluating intelligence is used to increase spell damage and won't help with these spells.

Tracking is a but useless in your normal day to day farming due to most spawns being localised to small areas, however with the holiday events the special mobs can be found from screens away when using tracking. (The Detect hidden skill increase chance to track hidden mobs)

The Hiding skill is one of the best things to have here, not only can you set the Provo off and wait for stuff to die or spawn, it's great for running away or just to go afk in the middle of nowhere while you go get another beer.

    You could also consider...

    Eval int, scribe and resist

    Anat, healing and resist

    Hiding, stealth and eval int

    Swords, tacts and anatomy.

    Or the classic

    Taming, animal lore and vet.

Whatever you decide there are some great guides on the forums and lots of people who enjoy these discussions!

May the pixels forever be in your favor.

    This.

Can switch wrestling for tracking during events or for hiding if you’re too chicken to fight back when a PK appears.

you would probably want to GM one of them. Failing often with hide is worse than not having hide at all.

If you really want to play boring bardmage most of the advices above are good. Btw, I would choose hiding as 7th skill. You probably want eval int and resist to keep back fighting PKs, but also to speed up farming.

My other suggestion is to switch to the super action barddexxer template. You will crush monsters much faster, are able to attend events like Halloween and xmas much more effective and most important, you dont fall asleep while watching mobs fighting each other. You will have to risk more valuable slayer weapons though. But might/force quality slayers arent that expensive.

Template: Weaponskill, tactics, anatomy, music, provo, healing 100, magery 70.1, meditation 29.9
    Stats: 92/100/33

Enough magery for 100% succesful recalls. I have even squeezed in 50 LJ into this template, but thats my special optimization to my playstyle.

I was thinking in create a new post, but this post is fine for my purpose.

I've got a current 7xGM Scribe Mage which I'm not using cause is not good in PvM at all. And I'm bored of go looking for PvP without find too much people. And then when I go with my tamer I found some Pks and I cannot fight comfortable with tamer (I dont like it too much).

So I'm thinking in reconvert my main char in a char for make everything adn fight when I'll have Pk encounters. And I thought for PvM Provocation was a good option. My doubts are:

    1.- Go for PvM/PvP template:
5xGM Mage skills (Wrestling/Magery/EVA/Med/Resist) + 2 Bard skills. And drop inscription (I love it)
2.- Go for PvM/PvP template weakest against melee but a bit strongest against magery
4xGM Mage skills (Magery/Eva/Med/Resist) + 2 Bard Skills + Inscription (In this case I have 25% or being hitted by a Melee char due to defensive wrestling)
    3.- Rounded template (Magery/Melee/Bard)
    GM Magery/Med/Resist + Tactics/Weapon + Music/Provo

    What do you think?

Would be possible with a Provo Mage do Iron Man or Christmas event scrolls?

    Thanks in advance.

Might be worth using 2 accounts, have your backup hidden in a corner while farming on a bard bard or tamer?
