if youre the red brigands shouldnt attack you and make the guards in the guard towers along the trails protect blues from pks and/or monsters, maybe not a full blown guard zone but very powerful guards atleast
Its niche territory, and nowhere near era accurate, but the gone but not forgotten AngelIsland nailed this. There were Orcs, Undead, Brigands, MageCouncil, and Savages? I think that was all of them. Each had a stronghold and a kin mask that functioned like the orc masks.
Always thought this was a cool idea. I play a server like 2001 on sphere that had a custom map and one of the cities would guard whack you if you were blue. All npcs were red, reds were allowed in, it was the same rules as a normal UO town but red/blue was reversed. Reds that attacked another red also got whacked for performing a criminal action. Pretty neat and gave a red places to buy things and to stuff which was important then since there wasn't 15 characters and I think skill gain was harder so going red was a real commitment. Also, on actual UO servers, at least during T2A, the guardpost guards would attack all reds/greys. I don't see why they would have changed this during UOR period so it probably is era accurate. It wasn't every guard, just the strong ones that everyone macros on, you know the ones.
the Guards east of yew have saved me in the past when I was running from reds in Ice, I forget the Reds name but he chased me all the way to the guards tower and proceeded to die at the hand of the guard
lol, My toon at the time wore all 5th anni Blue and rode an ethereal llama, after this run I changed his name http://www.uorenaissance.com/player/222476 If I had recorded the run I would have had to play the benny hill tune as this was running through my head at the timeIf I am honest, I didn't intend to get him Guard killed, I was trying to hide
Those guards are pretty strong, had some kill elves and reindeer for me on weaker characters and they had no problem. Real shame they don't attack red players.
Last Easter the guards helped slay numerous Fluffy's and easter bunnies. It took some tempting to get em to attack, but attack they did! The main reason why I'm commenting on this thread.... is every time I see it pop up in New Posts, I can't help but start singing "where did ya come from? where did ya go?" you know the rest.
