    Hello All,

I'm considering ironmanning my first AMIB (blue), but I have some questions.

I know one can simply sneak through and pick the chests. I'm curious if this is bad because (1) you miss out on potential kill loot (2) it's easy to die when you grab things from the chests

Otherwise, is it best to go in there with a provo dexxer template? (100 provo,100 music,100 fencing,100 tactics, 100 anat, 100 healing, 80 magery, 20 hiding)

I would suggest Red be the first you try and ironman. Blue can be tricky due to the lighthouse drop down for new amibers.

You will miss out on potential rare drops if you're not killing the bad guys. A lot of players like to rush through amibs as quickly as they can, and thats good to complete the requirements to obtain the trophy. But it's also good to continue killing everything in sight after since they still have the potential to drop rares. Left a Navigator behind to rush and loot chests? Go back and kill him after just in case he's holding onto a Captain's Spyglass or something.

    My prefered Skills are:
    100 Provo
    100 Music
    100 "Weapon Skill"
    100 Tactics
    100 Anatomy
    100 Healing
    100 Magery

20 hiding would just be useless. 100 Magery will get you those extra circles for magic reflect and higher clutch healing numbers. That is just my preferred template though for amibs. Plenty of players go for 100 resist and that's all fine and dandy as you can use telekinesis scrolls for the chests, i just prefer to have the utility of magery especially with magic reflect for those quartermaster assholes to help out while i target for my provo's.

Here's a great guide that helped me succeed right away when I was getting into Amibs. http://uorforum.com/threads/amib-ironman-guides-playthroughs.14933/

Yep, Jack of Shadows was the first person to ironman all of the pirate aMiB's and he used a stealther.

In terms of loot from the chests, all you need to grab is the gold/platinum/rares to ensure the run is successful, you can leave all the armor/weapons/scrolls/gems in there without a problem so something like a restock agent can save you a lot of time. Dying isn't a big problem either if you have stealth and can get back there easily.

As you've mentioned, you'll miss out on any potential drops (Some are really cool like the tattered tome), but you'll be able to complete the instance much faster than anyone trying to fight their way through.

I've completed all the aMiB's with a provo dexxer, my template is: Provo/Music/Tact/Fenc/Heal/Anat/Resist, the resist isn't essential, but I find that it's a lot more useful than magery because my dexxer has very low int and there's not a lot of opportunity to cast. If you play smart against the caster mobs, it's not that useful, but I always seem to find myself getting flamestriked a few times...

In terms of preparation, you'll want to bring:

    - A good 2H weapon
    - A 1H weapon DP'd for some of the tougher bosses that can be poisoned and don't cure themselves
    - 250~ bandages (More is always better!)
    - 10-20 of each potion, 5-10 of greater agil/str
    - Trapped pouches
    - 1-2 instruments (Exceptional/Repond/Silver depending on the instance)
    - A good set of armor (50~ ar is a good number to aim for)

And that's about it, mostly everyone struggles at the start learning how to approach the instances, but it's mostly practice and eventually you'll get to the point where you breeze through these instances!

I builded a char with Mace/tatics/anatomy/healing/provo/music/disco what you guys would advise to replace discord in a future ironman attempt?

I am thinking about magery, resist, poisoning or archery..... or even a combination of 30 poisoning/70 magery.

I'd just keep disco. It's great and makes provo easier.

Keep in mind you need to pop those chests’ traps. I suggest at least some magery and 2 teleK scrolls.

Or go full magery and do it that way.

The #1 AMIB pirate killer has:

    Magery
    Swds
    Tact
    Anat
    Music
    Provo
    Healing

@Keza aren't you into fire horns lately? I'd like to see an iron man video with only fire horns!

What stats do you recommend for that build? 95/100/30?

on the provo dexxer with magery i personally like to run 90str/75dex/60int. Mainly because if i'm stocking magery i'm going to be using reflect. Reflect/GHeal(rare)/telekinesis i found 40 or so mana is just not enough. Plus you can use potions to bump your str/dex if necessary :)

    Manfred

    100/80/45

EDIT: Also, it is not what I suggest as much as what works for me.
