A suggestion: When out hunting, be it in dungeon or a monster spawn, mark a spot where you wish to return to and
make frequent trips to the bank. Recall back to the marked spot. By banking gold and choice loot often, if you do get
pked, this will safe some of your stuff.

That's the truth of it. It takes about 20 seconds to recall to the bank, drop a stack of gold and an item or two, and recall back. If you're only doing it when you've become a giant loot pinata that can barely move, it's your own fault when people make a fortune by spilling your insides.
