I have to admit, it WOULD be nice to be able to recreate my live house that won awards back in the day (and a few other private shard attention prizes more recently) and not just buy one of the (imo) ugly premade houses. Is that even a remote possibility?
For every nicely built house there would be another ten visual abortions blotting the landscape. So, somewhat unfortunately, hopefully it'll never happen.
We cannot limit our beauty based on the idea that others will be ugly around us. It makes the beautiful ones stand out even more. .....also we could harass them and verbally abuse them for having ugly yards.

So what I am getting from lots of replies here is this: "We don't want you to be able to customize your house because some people are bad at it...." Come on... That's like making a law that bans Karaoke for everyone simply because most people can't sing.
One of the reasons this server is in a league of its own is that we DON’T have custom housing. The server aims to exist in a specific era of UO and custom housing wasn’t a part of that era and in many of the players heres opinions - that’s a good thing. Mine included. However, I feel like we would benefit from the ability to customise the existing houses internal layout and appearances creating a perfect middle ground and allowing people the option while still maintaining the visual, and era accurate aesthetic that sets this server apart from others.
Most people are bad at it or can't be bothered with it. I can choose to leave a poor karaoke performance, but poor looking housing blots the landscape for everyone. Surprisingly this has come up many times before, and Admin's afaik been quite clear that it's not going to happen. Edit - I would love to build some custom housing. But the greater good must be considered.
And could you show a picture of your house that you would like to recreate? If you refuse, I definitely understand that it will be just a reluctance to post something native on the forum. hehe

If you want to enjoy your time here as much as possible, I’d strongly suggest you dial down your expectations, piss & vinegar. There are some things that have been in the works on this server and ready to be implemented for 6+ years in some cases, thems the breaks and that’s the pace.
Oh, please don't misunderstand me. I am 99% joviality, jokes and joy. I'm only kidding and I am not married to a house for my enjoyment of UO, though I am VERY proud of the one I make.
I want to build something like this - But perhaps with a few more flowers. And tbh I could lose the Unicorn mating nest.
That's beautiful, but it has a LOT going on... like. a lot a lot...Really well done, however, even if a bit over the top. I would tone down the mushrooms a bit, personally. And yea, the Unicorn nest is rather hokey
