Ah Interesting - how do you know if something can be smashed by a pet? Boxes and tables I would understand, but statues? But not monster statues or trophies?
When I look back at my own run on UOR and all the various things I got into, the moments with all of us in O^S are the highlights for me. I really looked forward to logging in every night and smashing champs with you and the team throughout 2014-2016. And damn if the Hype Train spam at the Halloween events didn't make everything 100% better. Thanks for that and all the friendly IRC chats. Take care, my dude. I hope you stop by to visit the forums every once in awhile just to say hello. Obligatory Hype Train comic:
If it's a blocking object they will break it to access the tile it's on. None blocking objects they will just pass over.
I expect a full writeup of the history of @Gideon Jura and how you came to posses all these fine items! (few know the stories)
For the guides, I'm sure @Telamon and Crew will find ways to keep them going in my absence (as has been done before by great server volunteers like @ReZon and @Basoosh). To those offering me thousands of dollars or otherwise asking for things, I wish I could give everybody what they'd like, but I have set this up so there is no coming back for me. A clean break is the only way, and, in my opinion, the right way to complete the cycle of life. Sorry it lands on a work day, @Larloch, but it always seemed to happen that way. For @Ron Jeremy here's a quick rundown, *shakes fist* you know I can't miss the opportunity for a good guide. Items of interest: Large Cat Statue #1: I won this during the 1st Anni Scavenger Hunt in 2013. @Upgrayedd took the first and the masks went next along with other items to folks like @bart simpson and others. I believe I tied 4-5th and was able to pick this one. Large Cat Statue #2: I won this during the 2nd Anni Scavenger Hunt in 2014 with a 1st place finish. The item was created to replace Upgrayyed's in his absence. Large Warrior Statue: @Dalavar gave me this statue when he left UO:R. Thank you again Dalavar. It was originally from the 1st anni event. The matching statue belongs to @Wulver and is located near Yew Gate. Tall Statue #1: Unfortunately, I can't recall if it was @ReZon or @Treasureman that sold or gave me this statue. Tall Statue #2: I traded @Lyta two animated beakers for this but it belonged to @Treasureman_Retired and the items involved were from his retirement guide writing competition on BODs (Lyta won and I took second place). Tall Statue #3: I won this during @Treasureman_Retired retirement guide writing competition on holiday events. I later traded it to @SteelyDan for the 1st Anni Green set of Sandals and Mask. 1st Anni Green Set: See Above 2nd Anni Blaze Set: I bought the sandals for 3m from @Mandevu . Likely the best purchase during my time here. Thank you again Roman. I bought the mask from Markos for 13m. 2nd Anni Vesper Sandals: I can't recall who sold these to me but I believe they were 3m. 3rd Anni Sets: There are five of these, 2 purple and 3 green. I selected one dye as a prize and purchased all the other pieces. The other sets shown below and a variety of items in Gideon's bags are all in the house. There are dozens of uniques throughout the house, monster statues, champ rares, and complete sets of basically all the holiday event rares. My prized collection is on the frontmost table which contains all the event rares from 2012. Very few exist outside that small collection. The 15 character statues and other house addons will, unfortunately, vanish as the house collapses. Some sentimental items include: Event plat statue collection - from 2012 through 2017 or so, this collection contains one from just about every event. Inside the tower are statues with my character's names on them including the first Halloween and Christmas events from 2012, some of my fondest UO:R memories of which I've written before. Also included in the tower can be found @bart simpson 's valorite hammer, my winning fish from one of @Zyler 's competitions, and two fish from @frenulum . Also of note in the tower are a variety of nameless statuettes from 2012. I killed many ratmen as a very terrible tamer to collect those. Gideon's mask shown below is particularly important because it was the #1 Christmas Mask of infamy. Thank you @Mes and company for the great times. For those interested in how this was possible, for one person to collect so much, I have to say simply that it was two very simple things as I'm, quite honestly, not a very skilled player - teamwork and persistence. I made some money doing solo pursuits like fishing, sheep farming, vendoring crafted wares, bod selling, and spawning rares, but the vast majority was simply playing the game with friends. From champs to holiday events to IDOCS and anniversary scavenger hunts, we did it all and the list of friends and memories made along the way is far too long to recount in detail but you all know who you are. UO:R taught me a great deal - about friendship, gaming, and life. But what it taught me most of all is about setting goals and doing what needs to be done to make those goals happen. Putting to work those lessons in my personal, financial, and work life over the last 8 years has made things possible for myself and my family that I truly did not know were possible. For that, I am forever indebted to @Telamon and the people who support and tend to the living world of UO:R. I hope that there is great attendance and everybody gets away with some things they will prize for years to come. What I really learned above all else is that players that play should always be rewarded most. A world only lives when there is competition and conflict. Shout out to the IDOCers for playing and to the victor goes the spoils.
Man. What a reply. I didnt know you or play with you as far as I can recall. Based on your write up above, I believe I missed out. Sad to see you go, but I will definitely try to take your stuff.
Goodluck @NCCML ! It is unfortunate we never had the chance to play together. For those who attend, please take and post pictures and/or video of the before, during, and after. I will be unable to attend but would very much like to have a memory of the spectacle.
I will do my best to have a character there to chronicle it. One of the last remaining citizens of the Village of Paws should be there for an event of this magnitude. Songs will be sung of this day....
Gideon Jura... is there anything that would have made you stay!? It is sad to see the "founders" go away....
I had my first IDOC experience today. Died 10 times or more. Need to learn how to IDOC correctly and quickly.
