Stones of the Sea - Fishing Challenge
Event Description:
The great shores of Brittany Bay are calling all fishermen and women to prove their skill in the "Stones of the Sea" Fishing Challenge! Legend says that with each fish you catch, you unlock a hidden stone that reflects your luck and mastery over the waters. From the smallest pebble to the grandest gem, each stone has its own significance and rewards!
Event Duration:
January 31 - February 1, 2025
Fish needs date stamped with either of the dates within the event period
Objective:
Catch as many fish as you can during the event to collect stones of varying rarity. Each fish you catch can earn you a stone ranging from 1 to 200.
How it Works:
Notes on Fishing:
Double-click on a fishing pole, then click on a body of water. If successful, you will catch a fish. You might catch something more interesting than a fish. Success with this skill also depends on the availability of fish in that specific area.
Skill 0-65 - On land you will fish up Magic Fish, and Normal Fish.
80+ - Sea Serpents (No SoS Message), Special Fishing Nets from a boat in deep waters.
90+ - Treasure Maps 100 - Messages in a Bottle (aka MIB) / Waterstained SoS Message from a boat in deep waters.
95+ - You can reel in Big Fish which can be used to make Trophies via Taxidermy Kits. Big Fish are loot on sea serpents (like treasure maps, ancient messages in a bottle, and special fishing nets) from a boat in deep waters.

You can get to 100 skill/Grandmaster fishing from land. Once you have attained 95+ fishing, acquire a boat. They are player-made (check player vendors, forums, or Discord). You will need a boat to get offshore into deep water to catch Big Fish. Deep waters are generally around 10 tiles from shoreline depending on the area

Fish can be caught through being on a Boat on deep water with the smallest fish awarding you a 1-stone fish and the largest fish 200 stones.
Stone Range:
Small Fish (1): Common fish such as minnows and small cod will drop 1 to 10 stones.
Medium Fish (100 stones): Larger catches, like trout, bass, and perch, may drop stones ranging from 11 to 100.
Large Fish (200 stones): Legendary fish like golden carp, mythical tuna, and the elusive black marlin are worth stones from 101 to 200.

Bonus Challenge (Optional):
For extra fun, a Mystery Stone Challenge will pop up randomly during the event.

That's my assumption for that prize, but not certain.

Important note: do not mount any fish you catch during the tournament. Doing so will remove the date tag and make you unable to present the fish in game if needed.
