What is a steal good for when you can't brag about it? So here we go:

EDIT: Too bad most of the books were not that full. Nightshade, PM me if you want a trade. Weird naming of the rune book though (I didn't do it).

I'm glad that we have a good and active thief on the server again.

I was starting to get complacent again.

Did you steal those bod books too? I assume they are full? Naming the runebook that is something that's been done for a long time now and it's a good idea, I'd name all of mine that but my important ones are blessed :p

I got my small tower robbed when I got pulled away from the PC for 15-30 min 2 days ago. i think the second half of the door unlock/lock macro didn't complete as I was in a hurry and probably moved before the macro ended. I came back in the room and saw random player name in the chat log so I DHed real quick but the thief got away with my Gargoyle pick axes before I was able to get on someone useful and stop him. First you always feel ashamed and violated hehehe.

2 days later, it feels awesome to play in mechanics that this still happens and to know it was only pick axes and not more important stuff.

In over a year of playing I've only ever had a thief legit stealth into my house once. He was there for about half a second before he got DH-banned. I had a burglary a few months ago, allegedly made entry through the use of an old rune a player had stashed away since before I played here. I wasn't cleaned out because I have a couple layers of security but they got the items I left unlocked in the CY because I grew extremely complacent. I ended any possibility of getting into my CY now.

First and foremost I am not a random landlubber, I am a pirate.
I sat in wait for a few hours in that house. For yer future security information I just walked in the wide open door as ye were running in and out luring ore elementals inside. I sat fer about 2 hours upstairs without being revealed, so I would double check that you are detecting when unlocking the door. If revenge is something you ever seek, you know where I live, but the pirate's of Bald Island won't treat ya as kind as you did me, inviting me in and all.

Great that you share your stories here and kudos to rex for holding a very eye-catching torch while hiding out. Definitely +10 style points.

The stuff in the OP is from Nightshade being a little bit too afk. The BOD books were stolen in Nujel'm, however most of them are quite empty. Just two full ones. I got the runebook in Papua and it seemed weird to me that the naming of the book includes some kind of price - prevision perhaps? :D

Aye the torch is a necessity. Dark nights are no laughing matter, without a torch yer better off logging. I would sooner leave the island with only it then with only me bow. I travel light; a few torches, an npc bow, a few arrows, me boat, a dagger, some bandaids, and of course a lot of liquor.

No Rex you certainly are not a random land lover. Thanks for your post. It made my day. I DH manually after lock unlock macro. I really should add a DH and then ban humanoid gray to that.

I should inform you however that you robbed the Gypsy Warriors' Forge and not my personal tower. We will think of an appropriate course of action once we have gathered our forces.

So there I was minding my own business, honing my tracking skills at the Serpent's Hold bank. Out of nowhere appeared the great Descartes! After some thorough searching of his goods, I stumbled upon a set of keys deep within his backpack. I remembered seeing him inside of a Villa not far from the Yew bank and quickly set upon my course.

After doing a quick search, I grabbed the few things not locked within secured containers and moved to the upstairs. At that point, Descartes appeared outside leaving me no choice but to make an exit. Nothing major in my take, just some regs and some clothing, but I lived to tell the story.

Lol, congratulations on that fine fancy shirt crafted by JINX, that is one of a kind! He is by far the finest tailor in all the lands of Britannia. Also, nice score on the dye tub. ;)

The long road to a golden axe (sidenote: isn't that an oldschool video game I played a long time ago?)

It was the day of the big elf hunting. Everywhere people with dragons in their pokeballs (dragon ballz?!) started to show up. And KoS gathered up in a very quiet place: East trinsic bank.

Recognizing that my appearance starts to result in people getting as much distance as possible from me (*sniff* no, I don't smell), I realized that I would need a very clever disguise for snooping the perimeter.

And what did my eyes see? A very shiny golden axe!

No, there were even two of them! But they were equipped and with all that dragons around unreachable to my grasp.

I knew, this would take time. And after following that group into Shame and witnessing the gruesome slaughtering of innocent christmas elves (santa's little helper buddies!), I had to recover for a while. Hours later, mentally recovered and refreshed, I found evidence of their misdoings - the roof of the bank was littered with bloody pants and tops which without doubt once belonged to the poor little creatures.

Witnessing an interesting conversation about the consumption of otherworldly drugs, I saw my chances rising to obtain one of these now not-so-shiny-anymore golden axes.

Finally, I was holding one of these weapons of destruction in my very own hands. The good deed of today was done and maybe, just maybe, some elves were save from danger now. (little did I know then, what hunt would follow this first day...)

The Vile Nature seemed to think that his CTF Trophy would be safe deep within the depths of Moonglow Bank as he slept. But after a few failed attempts, I was able to call it mine.

Thieving not-so-perfected.. I'll give it to you that you were pretty close though, I wouldn't recommend hiding directly next to pets that will eat you though.

    Who is Claude? :D

Lol yeah, I take every gate I see and jumping into pets has his own risks. The real mistake here I did was to make my ghost visible.

On some days, one has to search and prey for hours in order to get a mediocre steal. And on some others ... well, see for yourselves.

I wished it was, but nay, it was a poisoned power katana. Naturally I tried to take it too, just to complete the business, but alas the time window for that was closed already:
