Some say K2 is the most difficult mountain to climb with the highest fatality rate per summit attempt, they have obviously never tried to summit Mount UOR!

Medium House Entry: [UPDATED 6/17] Added a new 'sunken treasure chest' to the display! I love this new chest.

Last year, I had an incredible series of blacksmiths occupying my Yew villa:

They enjoyed the work space and made themselves at home:

However, they eventually moved out leaving behind an empty void...In their place, a new tenant took over and transformed the house into a virtual color paradise. Sometimes easy to miss, the new tenants created a helpful map to alert color-seekers of the new location for their hoarding endeavors. This building is presently accessible to any willing member of the public, and the new tenants wish to extend an invitation to everyone to come experience the establishment in person.

Upon approach, the smell of pine and reindeer dropping flood the nostrils. Not only that, but the new tenants appear to have a fascination with fishing...various trophies of their fishing adventures grace the upper canopy, decorating the reindeers' lounging area.

Upon further inspection, the presence of an incredibly dressed doorman brings a welcoming atmosphere to the villa's expansive stoop. It even appears that gift boxes linger following a recent festive gathering.

Once inside, the brightness shocks the senses and it takes a moment to let the eyes adjust. The imposing polar bear heads stare into the soul and the immense amount of trophies make one think that these new tenants are not to be taken lightly.

While ascending the softly padded stairwell, I thought to myself, "What else could be hidden within these four walls?" Once I reached the last step, my senses were shocked by the clear visual evidence of these new tenants' obsession with fishing. The famed ancient mibs seem to be this fisherman's particular expertise, yet there is an adjoining dedicated to some sort of dark rituals involving fire and the remnants of long decayed corpses. In addition, these corpses seem to be so decayed that they can hide items--likely related to the secret ceremonies performed within the room's tiny recesses--within their crumbling frame.

Now months later, it is important to acknowledge that these new tenants are incredibly punctual with their rent, and their neighbors applaud their neighborly manner. I wish them all the best, and I want to extend an immense thank you to them for opening up their eye-destroying abode.

    Unique Design Element:

Holiday trophy display/barber shop style pillars:

Special thanks to: @NONAMEALLSTAR @Pirul @El Horno @LesClaypool @Basoosh @Blaise @TrojanCow and all the others who let me purchase their amazing trammel. A lot of this is mine, but most of this has been acquired through generous sellers willing to help me achieve my vision of a holiday haven.

Final note: Don't forget to visit my house! It's completely accessible if you want to look firsthand before placing your vote!

    Massive House Entry:

Faber really inspired me with his story so I'll try to follow his up with my own!

A long time ago, on a shard far far away, a very young Gideon Jura attended an IDOC of a castle owned by a legend named Telamon. The IDOC itself was rather uneventful - within moments I was left wondering how people could pick items up so quickly. But I definitely found something that day that was worth more than gold. While waiting patiently for the house to fall I couldn't help but realize how much care he had put into each area of his house. The house itself had become more than a home, it had become a landmark.

Starting out on UO:R - all the way back in late summer of 2012 - one of the main things I wanted to do was decorate. In the beginning it wasn't anything fancy - house addons, furniture, and maybe a few furniture dye tub charges. But you don't need all the pixel wealth in the world to make a beautiful house in UO. Scouring the internet for screenshots of houses, custom houses, and decor contests, I started creating a library of different things I liked that players had created in game. Still to this day I have a file of screenshots and things I have yet to borrow but hope to one day use myself.

I am very indebted to the creative people of UO:R who have helped me put this house together - LesClaypool deserves the highest thanks for he sold me the Fortress and I am very in debt to him for that. Telamon, Upgrayyed, LesClaypool again, Markos, Mobolin, Peace, Basoosh, Lutz, AlexCCCP, Faber, ReZon - really the list is too long - but you've all inspired me with decoration ideas, tricks, and themes. I am also very indebted to everybody I've hounded for particular items - thank you very much for helping me out with this project. Huge thanks as well to Descartes, Avery, and Musician for leading OS and PwN, the members of both guilds, and the generosity of Vella. Big thanks to Blaise also for hardly ever complaining about the lag I'm sure he's experiencing as my neighbor. Lastly, I am very thankful and indebted to Telamon, the staff of UO:R, and the volunteers who make this place possible. Logging in here most nights has helped me through some rough times and I appreciate it more than you guys can really know.

With that all said, here's the top floor.

The idea here was to go big. Real big. That waterfall is intended to look like it's coming off the mountain top there and spilling down into the top floor where you can see a Map of Sosaria (credit of course to Dalavar for that idea).

This part wouldn't have been possible without Peace, Matron, and El Horno. The waterfall, chessboard, and sandal display all use table runner catwalks. Big thanks to their inspiration!

    Close up of the waterfall:

    1.png

Close up of the Map of Sosaria:

Each city is marked with a Pegasus Statue and Rune.

    2.png

Above the Map of Sosaria is the Chessboard - monsters versus animals. Thank you to Zyler, Jupiter, Mes, and others who competed in many UO:R chess matches for giving me this idea.

    3.png

This is a close up of the sandal collection. This is Frenulum and 555s pre-patch collection - all hues from the dye tubs are represented here and labeled so people can see how they look in game. Thank you again to Frenulum, 555, and ReZon for allowing me to host these here.

    4.png

The rest of the top floor is intended as an event history. Mobolin's castle is the inspiration! Moving clockwise around the upper story...

    Valentine's Day:

Huge thanks to Deacon - I missed Valentine's Day and he ran a contest with many of these as prizes which was incredibly generous.

    vday.png

Pirate Invasions, 1st and 2nd Anniversary, and St. Patrick's Day:

    shot.png

    Easter:

    easter.png

Christmas, Land Rush, and 4th of July:

    xmas.png

    Thanksgiving:

Big thanks to NoNameAllstar for donating these items.

    thx.png

    Halloween:

These have been my favorite events throughout UO:R's history. I know I'm not alone in that feeling either - hopefully The Night of Horrors makes a return this year!!

    halloween.png

Much of the remainder of the house is rather cluttered. This is where the Servants of Jura have been hard at work producing the goods to go to market. Thank you to everybody who has shopped at my vendors over the years. The servants are currently enjoying a much needed vacation at the beaches of Magincia.

    Bottom floor:

Boothby provided both the inspiration and items to make this level possible. Thank you sir!

To the east you can see the servant quarters which actually look pretty comfortable.

    a.png

There is a game room and a small break room to eat meals.

    b.png

The central room houses the major crafting area.

    c.png

Here you can see a Hype Train on its way to Yew Bank with a load of goods.

    d.png

To the west is where the specialists work.

    e.png

Elite smithing wares are produced here.

    smithing.png

    And lastly,

This is where I rest after a long day at work...

    Massive House Entry

Most Unique Design Element : A Theme, Prostitutes, Pillows, Beaded door, Novelties, Pentagrams, Each room is unique. Use of imagination to create this composition with common items.

    Owner: Vivian

    Theme: Red Light Fort
Red Light Fort is themed after the red light district in Amsterdam. Vivian Sylvar has recently opened her establishment to bring a taste of the red light to the north, west tip of Dagger Island!

A sex dungeon filled with beds, adult novelties, liquor and more! Here at the Red Light Fort we have many fantasy rooms to choose from, and many fun things you can use your imagination with! All of our staff is very hospitable, and all girls are trained in massage. Most girls are bi-lingual in several languages (a interpreter can be provided with advance notice).

    Safety is a must!
Behave! or Olaf will see you out!

It may be cold out there... but stop on in to stay warm at the Red Light Fort. We can host any size party! The orgy room has new fur rugs! Please contact Vivian for special parties of 20+ people.

In my design I used a lot of pillows, beds, cloth, house add-ons, polar bear rugs, tools, food, 104 vendors were used. This idea was brainstormed one night this past December with Mobolin. I created the vision we made that night. Due to the adult content, I will not go into details on each photo. I want to thank all the polar bear rug makers for all the rugs, Crooks and Canis for some great ideas and suggestions. I want a special thank you to Cynic for making this all possible with his sick massive hoarding, Thank you!
