I've always been really intrigued by the faction system and thought it was incredibly well designed but never ended up participating for various reasons namely lack of general participation at the various times I played various iterations of uo. What I'm wondering is what is the theme and philosophy of each faction. Also, I'm curious about the population of each faction on UOR and their respective dominance. How would you characterize each faction, both in general and their performance on the shard? Thanks. I will probably end up joining with my second or third character.

There's some lore of the various factions on other websites. If I were going into factions, there is one I'd pick based on the lore behind them.
By this he means professionals at recalling after a kill and bragging only when then they have 5 to 10 and others have 2 or 3... they are the biggest faction I'll give them that but let's say a group of 3 com and a group of 3 minax is fighting they know to stay away.. so dominating has different meanings for each person
On every server Ive played on the dominant faction was the one most hostile, not the most defensive and scared one
If you believe this log into town in the afternoon and you'll notice tb/com/minax chilling while sl desperately awaits #s for maybe one kill then a recall
Good lord you may literally be insane..... All you turds do is hide in pill and Ebola's towers all day waiting to attempt to gank one of us. Then as soon as one as we get at least one other person you all run back to your houses. You, pill and musician tried banking me outside pills tower last night and as soon as Kane ran into the fray you guys again scuttled right back into pill's tower. Later on last night, me, Kane and drak were trying to fight you on your tamer with your two wyrms and mare, the musician, pill with his mare, the messenger and ebola. So let's break that down for you mathematically. SL = 3 reds CoM = 5 people + 2 white wyrms and 2 mares. We healed through your shitty and incompetent dumps start to load spells and you chumps hightailed it right back inside pills tower.... But we're the supposed bad ones? Lol to that. In response to seeing Minax and TB on the field/in towns much less fighting each other anywhere besides in the duel pits, LOFuckingL. I haven't seen a single Minax person in the past month I've been back. The only TB person I've seen since amfekk left is crooks and that was last night.. But go on and tell us all how TB, com and Minax are always on looking for fights. You seriously should seek help about whatever mental deficiency that is ailing you. Factions; occasionally tb and Minax have people on and fight com, if sl has 5 or at least double the #'s they'll gate in ghost and sneak in for a rez kill and everyone on the server knows it.. dont let the 5 paragraph essays fool you these kids couldn't fight if someone was redlined and poisoned and if they say differently just notice the factions out at peak times and which faction comes when everyone left

You guys came out of pills tower for all of 30 seconds attempted some terribly uncoordinated gank then ran back inside the instant we all loaded offensive spells.... The last time you fought us with even numbers 4v4 we waxed you then pill, airframer and Ebola hightailed back into pills tower. It was really pathetic. You and your buddies are a joke dude.

if the groups all got on, SL/TB/CoM have good size established groups that play together in each. Minax has members, not so active, every other month you may get a glimpse of them on for three days, then gone. It's the smallest out of the 4, with mild activity.
