I was looking to update some of the guides as I noticed a few are giving incorrect information. Post here a link to any outdated guide or topic that is missing a guide completely and I will see what I can do if I know enough about the subject. -ElHorno
Looks like the community is all over this one. Anyway, I've been messing about with tracking as it compares to success rate/range with/without detect hidden on a target with hiding and/or stealth. It seems like the formula is cut and dry but, I couldn't find much information about it. I dual logged on test center and found the journal updates you get when using the tracking skill was very helpful. I'm going to mess around a little more but, it looks to me like detect hidden doesn't pay off as well as I'd hoped for 100 points of invested skill (for tracking). I was also disappointed in the chance to reveal results of a GM detect hidden/tracking combo vs GM hide/stealth... very, very disappointed when compared to just using Wis Quas and GM tracking. So, not to turn this into a tracking thread... just throwing it out there. If you're looking for guide material, this may be worthwhile.
That's why I dropped it. Disappointing success rates. To be actualized: Mining gloves. I think the BOD guides still claim that you get mining gloves via BODs. I had to correct it several times in IRC already. The actual change info is hidden in the appropriate patch log.
Bump, anyone who used a guide recently and noticed it was out of date please let me know. http://uorforum.com/threads/tracking.2458/#post-18978 There is the info you are seeking. I'll see if i can get it on the guide page.
I heard somebody say that you can gm forensics off the thief master from 34 skill to gm. In think most guides say you have to finish on a gm thief.
I began forensic eval training off a beggar NPC earlier than that. "You notice nothing unusual" on passing skill checks
Yes. I believe you are the one who brought this up. You were trying to warn all those potential forensics scholars that they don't have to study thieves or toads.
I started my second Tailor this evening, and noticed a few minor issues. The Tailor Skills page and the greatness of the "One Guide" have one incorrect Item to make, and the total amounts of cloth differ for the same guide. Short Pants(6) and Fancy Shirts(8) have the same required Skill to Make(24.8), so there is no reason to make Fancy Shirts at 8 cloth. It should go to Skirts at 29.0 or skip up to Fancy Dresses at 33.1. I just started Robes with 6000 Cloth used on Short Pants/Fancy Dresses/Cloaks, so I'm not sure which Total is closer to the truth yet...(will Update when I GM) ... Just pushing for 74.6 and Oil Cloths right now. Update- 26,100 Cloth and 1460 Leather to GM was my experience this round.
I think that the guide on Discordance could use a re-working. Have the option to do it with tamables, and not with tamed animals (when your new and don't have a tamer)
