The end game is an item, set of items, task or leader board status a player works at over their time to complete. These goals aren't obtained quickly and take considerable time and effort to reach. These things keep people interested and give them motivation to log in.

What are your end game goals for playing on uo Renaissance?

My end game goal was to obtain an ethereal mount and blessed runebook on every character. I have completed my goal. (13 ehys, 15 blessed rune books) The only characters that done have mounts are my crafter (rides a polar bear) and my lockpick (is never mounted)

With this completed, I am looking for something new to set my sights on. Let me hear what your end game goals are so I can get some ideas of what to go after next.

Thank you, and Long Live Renaissance!

No endgame goals. My joy of the game constantly evolves, e.g. piracy, RPing in VoP, trying exotic pvp templates etc.

    - Own a large tower in a nice area
    - Finish my crafter
    - Finish my tamer
    - Own an ethy (llama)

That's about it. I'll probably never have any of it because the grinds to do so are tedious and I lose interest quickly.

I wish I had an end game goal but I haven't really been able to think of one. I used to think owning a keep/fort was something I wanted but after downsizing to only small houses, I found it to be a lot more fulfilling. Right now I'm thoroughly enjoying the thief class and the mischief I constantly find myself in.

No end game for me. I enjoy playing no matter what I'm doing with time I get to play.

I don't really ever see [an end] to UO, to me there always seems to be something to do.

UOR has add some much new content, that here it would be almost impossible for me
    to stop going after something.

    Long live UOR!

    Thanks again Chris

To collect the biggest pile of red heads on the shard!
And cleaning up my house... till its a mess again 1 week later..

I honestly believe that Roleplaying, organizing events or simply playing a town thief for fun and player interaction is a nice way of endgame too.
(not always the plat/gold that counts, although an ethy can be a nice goal at some point)

You should make it your goal to make CTF more approachable to the masses. ONLY join the team that you feel has the least chance of winning and try and get more players involved (or in many cases re-involved). This goal follows a general end game goal I wish you would do more of, giving back to this amazing shard. More public harrowers, champs, and pvp events (Who cares about the harrower nerf, its still fun for people to come, even if it means SIGNIFICANTLY less plat for the insiders).

Also ease up on the casual idoc competition a bit. I remember on my previous shard I found a small idoc house and camped it for a LONG time (not understanding, nor having the timers). When the house was about to fall the idoc group came in and didn't kill me even though they easily could have. There is no reason to hold back on any serious idoc group challengers, but its the casual guy who stumbles on an idoc that I think should be given a break.

bart has given plenty to this shard. Why don't YOU make it your goal to make CTF more approachable. FYI: it's free, anyone can do it and you lose NOTHING. It doesn't get more approachable than that. Just because you can't WIN easily, doesn't mean anyone else needs to change for you. Not too mention, bart loses at CTF sometimes too. It's just not often because too many people imagine there are barriers to entry or that he has some clutch capabilities in the game. He doesn't. He has a val axe and lots and lots of experience. Get some. ***************************************************************

Asking for IDOC crews to 'ease up' is like asking a large faction to sit out a sigil raid/defense. Don't be daft. Get big, get good, or get a better hobby.

Keep up the end game goals guys! I would like to throw a few more out there...

    1) one of every champion boss statue

    2) Full set of your favorite holiday rares

    3) Shiny outfits for all of your characters

    4) Large home or small compound

    5) Valorite Runic Hammer

    Hmm. I'm voting yes, but...

On UOR I've mostly gone all in on one thing at a time - sometimes pausing to focus on an event - and then I try something else. I've always had a goal (singular) within the scope of my focus at the time, but what that goal is has changed many times both with and without a change in focus.

I've gone from RP to vendoring back to RP to BODs (traditional no magery mining!) to a brief stint on filling tamer quest scrolls to CTF then back to BODs (battle mining) then to dueling and I'm currently focusing PVM. Some I succeeded in, others I failed miserably at and there are no shortage of people to tell you which is which. I've never had any material goals qua material goals, I just like to play the game. I suspect after this episode is over that I'll return to RP and/or start up with event creation.
