What's the craze with sandals? Why are there so many custom colors of sandals? Why are we shelling out 500 holiday coins for unique hues? Why are there not similar options for boots? Boots own. Or how about unique bracelet hues? Or how about [insert clothing item here]? Why is it always sandals?

I don't get it. I feel like a parent trying to understand the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers craze in 1994. Do they let you carry another 20 stones of loot? Do you run faster in them? Do all UO players just have a foot fetish for open-toed shoes?

    SOMEONE ENLIGHTEN ME.

It's the fad that never died.

Personally I like sandals on mage types and boots on warrior types. I could never wrap my head around a warrior in chainmail running around sporting a pair of air jesus'.

I'm with you b. I just don't get it. Boots own for sure. This is one reason why I sell swamp boots at Paws vendors. Coming soon: lava boots!

In fact any time I create a character with intentions to delete I usually start with a newbie bed roll, boots, and a wizards hat. Death robes are free yo!

I also like boots and start with camping or tracking on new chars to get a newbie pair. I like the way sandels look on the char in game but would not pay for special colors. I wont until im mega rich lol

It's just a style thing because certain hues of sandals stand out more than anything else. That and historically not being able to just 'make' some bright/colorful sandals was a strong draw. You can, if I'm not mistaken, just dye boots with a normal tub.

Sandals were like the first wearable rare I think on OSI, but I could be wrong.

It's just a Trammel thing. Some people like collecting.

With that said, I'll take the pair of rare blue sandals you have off your hands.

Would you stop releasing trade secrets! Swamp boots of Paws are hand painted! Haha.

But yes, you will find boots can be soaked in a standard dye tub as well.

You can get newbie boots with Tracking as a starting skill and you can dye them with any tub which makes them easy to obtain. I put newbie boots on lots of my chars because shoes look cheap. Sandals are just a way of showing off. You're not wasting an AR slot and they're very visible. Only other footwear that can not be found newbied is thigh boots but they make you look like a hooker

    HAHAHA.

I used to hate sandals, especially over on Voldeshard. I got over here right in time for the patch that removed the ability to dye sandals. I secured a few pairs of gf blues right before the patch went through, and put them away, thinking that i really didn't like sandals, but these might be good for the future. After I got a pair of cupids at an idoc, blessed the cupids and one of my blues, i started to really like sandals, just not on all characters.

I can't stand shoes, and, as Wodan pointed out, thigh boots make you look like a hooker. A few of my characters wear boots. Only a couple of my characters wear blessed sandals. They just happen to be some of my most visible characters. I have other, non-blessed sandals locked away in my Rares secure. Most of my characters run around barefoot.

What's wrong with looking like a hooker?

EDIT: I don't know why, but sandals actually give me the hooker vibe too. They kinda look like elaborate heels.

I can settle all this: Jesus wore sandals

Wow wise, that's a classy hooker.

Basosh is right though, the sandals are also a little hookery. To be hones, it'd choose a sandal hooker over a thigh boots hooker any time. One of the top rules for hookers is to keep everything well ventilated.

Hang on, don't they call those boots "fuck me boots" in London - which sound like "fook me boots" with the British accent?

I would like to pre-order a pair of Lava Boots, please and thank you.

I like both sandals and regular boots. Thigh boots remind me of waiters for fly fishing. So, only my fisherman would ever where them. Shoes are great too.

Undyeable Hues can be found on NPCs, but will not retain the color if cut up. (Obviously)
Short pants with Shoes is a good look!
Short pants with Boots is also a good look!
