Recent auctions indicate the true value of this item is right around 2.5 million gold, although there was only one person on the server willing to pay that much.
I admire your business savvy. If you decide you want to bail out, I'll offer you what you paid for it (2.5M). That was the bar I set that I was 'not going to cross'. I think what is keeping the value of this down (for me) is that there will be more (and should be, based off of the drop rate and total kills). If it were a holiday item that would never appear again, then I would windmill slam it @ 3.5M.
Thank you everyone for your candor. I see that happen quite often and watch as the bidders take it past the price that was originally set. Getting antsy because nobody bids on it within a few hours and lowering the price does not mean its worth less. That's how all auctions end. 1 person is willing to pay X amount and gets the item. That and there is only 1 auction with this item in it which happens to be where I got it . With 1 of 2 in existence I get the pleasure of setting the price point. Sure you can wait until someone else farms one up but will they sell it? Will it be sold for 2.5 million or less? When will that happen? The real question is, how bad do you want it.
Or, because taming is so fucking easy, you could LITERALLY go park three tamers at executioners and have one within a month or so.
Perhaps and maybe even two or three months? Perhaps spending a month there will consume more then 2 hours a day which compared to 60k/hour x 2 hours x 30 days = 3.6 mill for 1 account seems like a bad deal. If you want to lock up all 3 of your accounts be my guest it doesn't matter to me. I set the price, go farm it, buy it, or don't do anything. Sure would look great with a 400 plat guillotine or a 1,000 plat blood pentagram. Perhaps even sexy with the coffin?
The amount of platinum and gold you would make just trying to get one, would exceed the cost of this. That still doesn't mean it's worth it to most folks for something they can't use and only look at and will absolutely spawn again.
What is your point exactly? That can be said about any item. Post a +25 indestructible blackstaff of force for 500gp and it would not seem worth it to most folks. Post a super duper 1 of a kind anniversary pink yada yada for 10 mill and guess what? It might not seem worth it to most folks. If its not worth it to you, that is fine, but why are you telling me? At the end of the day, the thing is rotting in your bank box because you can't use it and you're going to have to sit on it until someone finally breaks. 3 pages worth of posts @ 20 per page that is 60 posts that you made since Oct 2012. All of the posts that you made in the trade forums maxes out at 10 pages back to April 2015. @ 20 per page that is 200 posts over 4 months in which you were not selling an item and more than likely were buying or giving your "tenured dealer" opinion. - Over 4 years you created 60 posts of potential sales - In 4 months you have been involved in over 200 posts giving "expert advice" or actually buying an item. That is an awesome trade tactic that you must share with everyone. Does that involve lowering the price to a point that you find reasonable? Or is it because Blaise says that any item posted on the forums must be sold within a day if its considered timely. I hope that day comes soon. I also hope whoever gets it has some sense and posts it on the forums for 3-3.5 mill instead of looking for fast cash. No matter what happens I will leave it in my bank until I quit or it will get sold. Gold is not some precious resource that I need to show off my e-peen. Not looking for any sympathy. Was never boasting just telling it how it is. TLDR; 60 out of the 5,544 or 1% of the posts that you have made were potentially sales threads.
