Does it seem a little dead?

Hullo. I began playing this server very hard many months ago. Nowadays I don't play really at all.I do sign on to check my vendors, and grab some BODs now and then, but does it seem a little dead? The once booming bustling bank scene of Occlo seems like a ghost town. The IRC chat the few times I sign on takes an hour to fill a page. Who did this? Did CP Reclamations, or Vargas destroy the server? Or that other guy who was in and out of jail IRL, and freely talked about drug use by the bank, i forget his name...was it him? Who destroyed this? Where you go? Hello are you there? It seems as of late I sign in more often to put gold on my vendor for services then to gather and collect gold from all the wandering adventures!

Not sure what you mean than The Smiths.
During October, not lot of talking in irc. Players where fighting the UnDead spawns in towns and doing the halloween events.
So Irc chatter often was full. during the events, not so much.
Not lot of irc chatter when players are doing the CTF

. Novenber were all out killing thanksgiving holiday critters. Being killed. And running around the world trying to find the random locations where event critters spawned.
Occlo bank empty, hmmm. About the same as always. Sometimes players are afk, other times some are not. some thieves around, some other players doing whatever.

We've had a couple and another young player streaming while they play the game.

Another thing you should consider is the different time zones. We have players from all over the world. Some of the time zones kind of over lap, like one country,people at work, while in another it's their night time.

LOl If you go out hunting the hot spots. you won't get lonely lol Might be ghosty, but not lonely.lol

Since you don't play very often now, not sure how you are judging if server is dead or not.

Hah! Only now do I understand how serious the feud over crystals between Kane and Blaise is... end up named "Blaise" due to a disguise kit, get murdered shortly after I wandered out of town to check house signs.

Honestly I thought I must have been perma grey and that's why I was being attacked. I should have just run back to the safety of Cove but figured I was perma. Didn't dawn on me that the name "Blaise" might have gotten me targeted until after it was way too late

There's a bit of a lull right now it seems (pop numbers hovering around high 400s to low 500s usually) but I wouldn't say it's "destroyed". Just slightly lower than it was. Look at it this way... The holiday season is here, people travel, take vacations around Thanksgiving, start their shopping early & get trampled at Black Friday...etc. It'll pick up again soon I'm sure.

Some of the people you mentioned (CP for example) are the people you'd usually see in Occlo idling at the bank. I know that CP and that guild seems to have stopped playing (their house just fell earlier this morning) so without those 4 or 5 people at the bank that's 4 or 5 less people idling there. The other guy who yapped about drug use and other crap is still around. He's just less vocal now thankfully.

It'll all pick up again probably. I'd bet all UO servers are at a bit of a population lull right now for the same holiday related reasons.

Still here, the house you saw wasn't particularly useful. Just got a little burned out by some of the sketchy events, and distracted doing other things.

It's cute that you think I was any sort of a problem though. Talk to mes, and telemon about problems.

UOR is defenitly the #1 server if it comes down to the community.

Once people get houses, they arent very likely to idle around in towns anymore, you wont find many ppl during events either since everyone will be out hunting - as mentioned above. Dont forget the resist partys too, there was one hosted from KoS not long ago, where a lot of people usualy ideling around.

If i realy want to find a fight, its usualy not a hard task at all, but there are differences between timezones.
You will find the most activity between 8 - 12 pm EST in my experience, although there is a significant increase of EU players during the past months.
