The medium range is 5k for a 2/40 chance of winning a check for 25k. The high range vendor is 10k for a 1/50 chance of winning a check for 100k!

They can't be lockpicked, can't be magic unlocked, only opened if you buy the correct key. You must be sitting in the chair in front of the vendor you wish to purchase from in order to actually buy a key. If your key doesn't win (don't be a weenie, buy another one!), please place the key in the bag on the table. Good luck!

I've consolidated to one vendor. Keys are 999g each for a chance to win either 5k, 10k, or 15k checks. I threw in an extra 5k check in one of the boxes just for the hell of it! Got that gambling itch today? Go scratch it at the Overlook Casino!

I would see a lot more potential for this, if it was more like slots, maybe stock the vendors with 30 bags, each with a locked box, and a key. Use a scroll to balance out the check weight for whammies.

Then you could add multiple chances to hit even money, double money, or a JACKPOT. People might be tempted to re-invest their winnings or keep going. It'd be a little harder to math out a good return rate for you since someone could hit the jackpot early, but very doable.

Just an idea.

Initially i planned on doing something similar, only having fruit arranged like the slots, like 3 bananas jackpot, 3 apples break even, etc. I hit a limit on that somehow though and just went with the keys. With keys though, i can put more boxes down. Getting the math right is the hard part. I wont get rich but i dont want to go broke either haha
