Hardmode Hunt X - June 18th

Greetings UOR! Its time for the official Hardmode Hunt 10!

Keza, of PS, has run a few in the recent past, and PS has run many of these already, so hopefully there is still interest in these.

This one, the 10th official, will be a bit different. So here are the details:

What: Hardmode Hunt X

Date and Time: Saturday, June 18th @ 12pm Central time (1pm EST, 10 PST, evening time for EU players).

What this is: We will meet up at a specific town, to be announced as the time draws closer.
You will be given NO GOLD. You may only start this hunt with the following things:

-Newbie dagger
-Spellbook
-Blessed clothing, non defensive clothing
-Your wits about you

There will, however, be starter bags for each of you based on how you want to proceed with this hunt
The choice of these bags are as follows. Players will be given ONE of these.

Option 1: 20 each regs, 1 scissors
Option 2: One butcher knife, 25 bandages, 1 scissors
Option 3: One dagger (if you dont have one), 25 bandages, 1 scissors
Option 4: One smith hammer, 25 bandages, 1 scissors
Option 5: One bow or Xbow, 40 arrows or bolts, 20 bandages, 1 scissors
Option 6: One lightning wand w/ random amount of charges, 1 G-heal, 1 G-Cure, 2 Total Refresh potions
Option 7: One random shield (not a buckler and not a heater), 25 bandages, 1 scissors
Option 8: Set of tinker tools, sewing kits, fletching tools, fishing pole, smithing tongs, motar and pestal, 20 lock picks, and a floppy hat

The intention is to work together, stay with the group, share loot, and tackle problems/bosses together, while seeing how well we do with minimal starting supplies.
We will clear a dungeon, getting down to the final levels, and then move onto something else from there.

There is NO recalling in or out, or gating. If you are in, you are in to stay!

We run this as open loot, killing everything we see and collecting better gear as we advance.

Tamers will follow the rules of "gather your tames while we progress", no tames to start and you can only tame what we find in the wilds.

We will create #HMH in IRC an hour or so prior the start time. Please join that if you want to participate, as that is how details will be relayed!

Interesting/intriguing idea. Thanks for scheduling something while us EUians will be awake. Not sure if this is within my comfort zone though - I prefer to use my toons fully equipped for less stress and panic.

What about including a tambourine in one of the start bags for the peacedexxers and other barddexxers?

interesting idea but how long do these usually run? It starts at 1amish for me so if I can't leave I have to be sure first (I work on Sundays)

A solid 2 hours. You are free to be there for as much as you can. The comments on recalling in and out was about players who wanted to recall to bank or buy or something, not for players who cant make the whole thing.

can people trade items or is that considered cheating?

As for trading items: Sure thing, there is not a lot in these starter bags, so divvy up how you want to with your friends. The main aspect will be sharing loot when we are out in the wilds.

And there wont be a bard starter bag, as I think the hard CC of barding, right away, takes away some of the thrill of fending for yourself and having to use teamwork to pull aggro and crossheal and what not. I am sure we will find instruments during the hunt so that will eventually mean barding is a thing, but hopefully not right away.

I'll let you know which I'll need in a day or 2. It will either be the butcher knife or the dagger. All depends if I get my fencer ready in time.

Are we going on foot or are mounts allowed?

Sounds pretty interesting, not sure I can make it but I will look for one of these in future. I am slightly confused though you said 12.5 hours but that is 12 am cst (midnight) and 1 am est.

@Lord Krake please confirm the time again... your time sounds like 1am EST and 10pm PST, which is about 4.5 hours from this post.

Join #HMH about an hour before the event to get more details.

No mounts. Everything on foot (this includes no taming mounts while we are out).

Option 8 would be good for some of us to take, as crafters really help for Hardmode Hunts.
