Dear friends & acquaintances of the Salty Dog,

It is with a strange mixture of sadness and relief that I write to thee. For the past number of months, I have been feeling rather unenthused about the state of things in Britannia. Many good friends have left these lands to pursue new adventures and I miss their presence. The vacant spots that they once filled remain unfilled, despite some effort on my part. Each morning as I sweep the leaves off the porch (it should be Kale's job but all he does is sit in his chair!) I look out into the once lively spirit wood and sigh. The echo bounces off the empty houses as if to remind me how much has changed. Some tell me that I must learn to occupy my time in other ways but I'm afraid that without a good story or friendly adventure, the mundane of this world is not enough to keep me interested.

For many once-magical things have indeed become mundane. It suffices to say that much has changed from when I was young and while some have been able to adapt, I have been unable to, nor do I wish to.

So it is here that I bid farewell to all of thee. There were good times, certainly, and I cherish them. I thank thee for your help in creating them. Now, I shall carve out a new path for myself, one leading away from Britannia.

Ah yes, it is a sad day indeed if the fates have twisted it such that I, Dorian Andrael, should be entrusted with so vaunted a legacy and a name to carry. I've barely managed to cling to my own name, tattered as it may be. And now this?

Fine, then. I shall walk with my head held high. The Purveyor, the hunter....the trader...... the bandit and yes, when I must be, the thief. I will remember the names I once heard shouted with glad tidings on the wind. I will remember the laughter that once rolled from these stone halls. And I will continue on.

In the hopes that after so much time you may still read this thread I bid you to please hear my plea to you.

Though first a public apology as I made or strongly implied a promise that on my failure I could not live up to. I could spout a hundred excuses but they would bare no truth so all I can say is sorry and please forgive me.

What I come to say I say publicly as to not be misunderstood and to lay claim to a promise I am to make.

That the magical is not mundane and that I vow, from this day forward, to reignite the fire in the hearts and bellys of lands people. To make great what once was and to keep great what now is and to protect with life what will be.

But I come to you and all who read this thread, that I am but man and falter often and greatly. That, in my merit and truth be not a God but a flawed flicker of fire. That I ask the grandest of gestures, that I may ask for the time and tide to all those who would hold this banner of hope and drive forward with me to protect and restore the very story of this place, this land and of us all.

I ask that you return, Enna, that I may right the wrongs and atone but also to rebuild and explore and fulfill both our desires...
