Note: this is grandfathered placement and if dropped could not be replaced. If no bids, I might buy this just to drop it.
I know Peace aka Landarr was the previous owner... I believe they had mentioned it was grandfathered when they had sold it.
but what benefit is a grandfathered house? only seems like a disadvantage to me. and also, would somebody care to explain exactly what grandfathered means?
It means if it ever IDOCs or is redeeded it can't be replaced For the record I have no idea if this house is grandfathered.
Grandfathered: to keep an item/object in the game despite a new change that was put in to disallow said item/object to be put/placed in game anymore. IE: on Catskills shard there used to be a house right at the Moonglow moongate that had one of its sides rubbing up against a rock. It was placed before the change went into the game that required a one tile buffer around the house. Instead of removing all the houses in the game that had improper placement like this, the houses were kept in game and 'grandfathered', meaning you're an old ass useless dude who roams around my living room playing with the loose change in your pockets, saying 'ah, me', and 'what a life'. sorry got off track there. There's a sandstone on this shard directly on top of the Britain crossroads that has one of its corners on the road. it is grandfathered. if it was redeeded, it would not be able to be placed again. There is a small patch of grass alongside the road directly below Brit moongate that used to have a small house placed there. It became grandfathered but the house either fell or was redeeded and now the spot of land remains open but no one can replace a house there even though there used to be a house in that same spot. This Destard house, I would assume, is grandfathered because it was placed before a change went in to prevent houses from being placed this close to a dungeon entrance. If redeeded, you would lose that placement forever just like the small house I mentioned above near Brit moongate.
I had a house in the Bloody Plains on Catskills near a tower that had a small house placed on the roof...never knew how that one happened.
i remember that house. i had a log cabin on the road in the bloody plains coming out of the swamp - between the road and the mountain. almost near the 3 way. necropolis was around there too wasn't it? the undead town.
According to the multiple ticks of a clock this house will not be torn down, and will continue to have the service of vendors. My vendors will go up on Saturday at some point.
I'll find you in a bit to complete the transaction Boothby...we'll meet at a bank first if it's all the same to you.
