Gael Wordsworth of the Great Council wrapped his purple cloak about himself and pulled it tighter. A sharp chill shook him in spite of the rising heat outside. He found it harder to control himself as the days wore on, but he did the best that he could to hide it. It was in these moments that he thought of Sharon. She suffered similarly, years past. Gael shuffled a number of accords and diplomatic papers on his desk, a bead of sweat forming upon his brow in spite of the shaky cold he felt. An abrupt knock on his chamber door forced him to sit upright, shoulders back, head up. He can not be seen in any other state. He bid the knocker to enter. Darrius Yron, Gael's most trusted of Couriers entered. He was a strong man in the grips of vital youth. He was loyal to Gael Wordsworth, not to the title of the Steward that he bore. "Urgent message, My Lord. I was passing through the village of Paws upon my return to the south of Britain and I stopped by the stables to give oats and water to my horse. It was from there that I saw the Grey Wizard... My Lord, he was taken by several assailants. It happened far too quickly before I could intervene... Through the gate he was taken I could see where they went... It is a place known to me, Covetous." It was unclear what the attackers wanted from Jupiter. It was curious... why take him to Covetous? Gael send Darrius to spread word and gather the Council Guard and allies. With the Council Guard assembled, along with help from Stormhold and the Free People of Paws, the retinue made its way with haste to the dungeon Covetous. Lady Erza of Stormhold held the rear guard to ensure nobody fell behind and to keep a clear path of retreat should one be needed. Lady Kashla and Admiral Ardis Valspar led the vanguard into the heart of this hellish place. Gael rode with them, though every bone in his body ached. He knew that there was no leading from anywhere but the front. The search began. The harpies and other nuisances of the upper level of the dungeon barely slowed the retinue in its pursuit of their friend and ally, Jupiter. Having made their way through the monsters and beasts of the first two levels, the retinue found themselves face-to-face with the assailants. No words were spoken save those of aggressive magical incantations. A terrible chaos ensued. Gael found himself in the middle of a narrow hallway as the fighting broke out around him. In spite of the intense heat of fireballs and bolts of energy crackling through the air, his chill gripped him tighter. Just as quick as it started, the fighting was done. The assailants were dead on the floor, their heads collected for any known bounties. The good and brave Bryiglos of Stormhold had fallen in the fight. There was no time to mourn the losses, and the retinue continued its search for Jupiter... Until at last he was discovered in the ancient cells of the dungeon, in a terrible and sickly state, his only company being that of a rotting corpse. He was weak. Whatever the attackers did to him took a toll, and it is still unsure as to why he was taken at all. Lady Kashla and Admiral Valspar helped the ailing Grey Wizard. His spirit lacked the cohesion to travel through a magical gate, so the retinue would need to escort him out of this prison... Upon entering the throne-room, Jupiter got a mad gleam in his eye... The scrolls left behind by the undead and the attackers in this place were quickly coveted by the wizard. He simply refused to move forward until his deep need for the scrolls was satisfied. The retinue gathered the scrolls - eventually enough of them to satiate his burning desire for them. Jupiter was safely escorted from the dungeon. Upon the main assailant was discovered a riddle and a key. Jupiter at this time had recovered enough, being brought out of that dungeon. He was able to focus his mind and energy. With Jupiter's insight, the group was led to Moonglow, and ultimately the telescope to where the abductor had set up some sort of ritualistic chamber. Also discovered was a very heavy, locked chest! It weighed over 700 stones! The chest was hauled by to the Great Council tower where Corvus, the King's Treasurer assisted with dispersing the treasures to the retinue. And as a last bit of business, Lady Kashla turned in the head of the mastermind assailant to the local town guard.
