On the night of November the 27th, Jupiter of Paws rallied together members of allied guilds such as Project Sanctuary, Stormhold, and The Great Council for a perilous mission. *Artist's rendering of the initial gathering of the retinue A dark blight by the name of Baerron Jael has descended upon the village of Paws (and has been witnessed in the Great Council lands south of Britain and in Project Sanctuary on at least one occasion), and the Grey Wizard Jupiter decided that this night they would strike back at the villain by casting light through the dungeon of Deceit, a known location for the foe to hide. With their lanterns, candles, and torches burning bright, the retinue cast light upon one of the darkest and evil places in the Realm. *The initial gathering of the adventuring party and the discussion of Baerron Jael The evening began with the initial gathering of volunteers. An envoy of the dark fiend by the name of Elyvyra the Pale attempted to dissuade the group from its endeavors, but they were not swayed. *Artist's rendering of Elyvyra the Pale Jupiter split the retinue into four groups. Three of the groups went to three separate towns (Skara Brae, Trinsic, and Britain) to purchase all torches, lanterns, and candles that could be found. The King's Steward was sent to the Great Council tower to find additional supplies and also serve as a distraction for any prying eyes of the fiend. *Artist's rendering of the Britain caravan Upon acquiring several hundred light-emitting objects (and packhorses to carry them), the group gathered in the village of Cove before heading to the Dungeon of Deceit. *Artist's rendering of the group uniting in Cove *Artist's rendering of the group gathering outside of Deceit Once in the Dungeon Deceit, the adventuring party laid torches from the entrance into the adjacent rooms and halls. It became quickly apparent that even with such a large stock of lights that it would be an impossible task to light every part of the deep dungeon. Instead, it would need to suffice to light the path from the entrance down to the Lich Lord lord room. *Artist's rendering of lighting the path through Deceit *Additional rendering of the light trail being constructed *Although the supplies of three towns was exhausted in the attempt, the lights were not enough to cover the entire dungeon. *Jupiter yelling a challenge to the fiendish foe *The Lich Lord room - The lights ran out without covering the distant half of this most unholy lair. *A surprise white wyrm awaited the group upon exit. A trap set by the fiend? *Artist's rendering of the trophy to commemorate the night's efforts
Pressing matters at the Dark Octopus guild hall took me away early. I regret that I missed the lighting of the Lich Lords. More so with my flamestrikethan with the torches, foul creatures. (Great fun all! It was good to see our numbers grow along the way.)
I went back through my screen shots to see if there were any random pictures of the bewildered spectators. Unfortunately, due to my 'caution' prone nature, when Thanatos and a few others 'streaked' through the light we set, my hands moved from my 'take screenshot now' hotkey to my 'SUPERELITEJUPITERWILLEXPLODEYOUINTHEFACE' hotkeys. Apologies, but I'm sure we could photoshop you in
